This is a good point. For me, when I get to my polling place they ask for my address and my name. So someone trying to impersonate me would have to know those three things. That’s a lot of effort for 1 person in tens of thousands.

This is a fair question, but you have to realize that a) voter fraud doesn’t happen, so ID checks aren’t necessary, and b) it’s not easy for everyone to get any of those items. And the right to vote should not be hindered because you can’t get to a DMV or aren’t a student or don’t have a home or job.

How does an ID ensure that the person it names is the person holding it? Thousands of college kids slip past the net of required IDs every night from bouncers that are expecting it. We think elderly low-paid poll workers are going to do better?

You register to vote. Then you show up on the day at the appropriate polling location, you say “hi, I’m so and so,” they look to see if you’re on their list, and then they let you vote. The idea that there is any meaningful practice of people showing up at a polling place and falsely assuming the identity of a person

You provide your ID or proof of residency when you register. Then when you get to the polls you just give them your name and sign a piece of paper and they hand you your ballot. The voter ID is an additional, intrusive step into the process, making it harder to vote when we should be making it easier.

A few of my Trump voting coworkers are already backing off on the rhetoric they were spewing as early as Monday. “No matter who won, we were screwed anyway so I chose the one who cares about American jobs” bs. I think deep down in their heart they thought he would lose but just couldn’t bring themselves to vote for

I just don’t understand why people voted for Trump. I understand they wanted to mess with the establishment (even though they clearly didn’t, considering how much of the legislative branch was re-elected), but Trump is the establishment! How were people able to just ignore that he was born with a silver spoon and

Man, can we make Kerr the VP on the Popovich 2020 ticket, with Stan Van as secretary of defense?

Man fuck the Warriors but Steve Kerr is aight.

I’m ready for Dems in congress to just go full Tea Party. No attempts at governing, just obstruct whatever the opposing party is trying to do and hope you get rewarded come midterms because they’re in charge now and then everything can be blamed on the GOP. Why not?

Get ready for four years of this from your uncle’s Facebook, everybody

I too would nut to see Tiffany’s ballot box

After all this, Tiffany will likely be one of the main suspects if someone shoots Trump by the sun dial in Centeral Park right after he unveils the sunblocker on top of Trump Tower.

You know a Concourse post when you see one.

With that comment, this thread can fade to black.

I won’t rest until they tell us what happened to the fucking Russian.

“The Concourse - Culture, food, whatever”

Most surprising plot twist is the show adds Martin as a character and kills him off, therefore explaining why the final books AREN’T FREAKING DONE YET.

Ice dragons

On the plus side, at least nobody has successfully leaked the greatest mystery of the series: Will the last two books ever exist?
