Hah, forget about buy my own. My employer (big, big, big company) plan for myself, wife, and one child is $600 a month. I’m in my 30s, wife is in her 20s. I’m not even sure age matters, actually. That’s just the one plan offered. End of story.

As a Canadian with family in the US (and a Canadian living in a province where I do actually pay an annual premium for health care over and above my taxes), I can not, for the life of me, understand why anyone would willingly emigrate to the US  for the health care reason alone, let alone all the other bullshit.

Fuck this fucking shit. We pay $21,000 a year for me(47) my wife(40) and our son(3). For that, we get the same results that we’d get if we had the internet, some antibiotics and some superglue. If we do go in for a checkup or anything else happens, that number goes up. It seems to be just a starting estimate from the

I’m 58 years old. My Covered California Gold level plan (which has no deductibles) in 2018 was $791/month for me alone ($1,157 unsubsidized rate). Next year, it’s going up again, of course. I have some health issues and frequently visit various doctors, so I am very happy to have insurance. I could have selected a

$1056 per month for family of 4, with annual income of just under $100K. Down roughly $200 per month from last year. If I factor in the tax cut which gives me an extra $300 per month, then I’m actually paying $750 per month as opposed to $1250 before. So nice improvement this year.

Ethiopia and Uganda are majority-black countries that have bland food

It absolutely is not “bland” by any stretch of the imagination.

1. Ethiopian food is not bland, not by a long shot.

Sure, but lots of white American folks eat bland food, and I think it’s in a misguided attempt to be healthy. We’re friends with a couple who do not use salt. Not just little salt. Zero salt. For no reason other than that they’ve bought into the idea that any salt is bad for you.

I have a theory on this. I think it is a combination of two things: 1. I think that some people were just raised eating bland food and that is what they are comfortable creating. My parents eat the least flavorful food. They aren’t against seasoned food when we go out, but at home they never season anything. 2. (and I

Hi! Honky here.

Where’s ol’ Paco de Goya when you need him? The Trumps deserve the Goya treatment; photography can’t evoke the inner ugliness of this family as well as Goya did with the court of Charles IV. (But, memo to Trump: Charles IV abdicated!)

Wrong and wrong, actually.

It just makes my heart hurt...

This whole legal vs illegal thing in regards to immigration needs to end. Let anyone in who wants to come in, and if they commit a violent crime, deal with them accordingly. People don’t need to be afraid of immigrants, they need be standing up to the racist monsters tormenting them.

If they presented themselves to Boarder Patrol it seems likely that this was an attempt at asylum versus “an illegal crossing” especially as Border Patrol has shut down or denied people at official entry points.

Fucking monsters...I have a 7 year old....wtf America?

Well, gee, maybe people wouldn’t resort to crossing illegally if crossing legally was a valid option. This is because of horrible immigration policy.

More like “Adult Take”!
