The second one is probably one of the worst sequels I’ve ever seen, and the scene where Mark Strong is singing before getting blown up is one of the most annoying things I’ve ever seen. I think of it often when I’m annoyed about something, and of course I can hear his terrible singing voice in my head the entire time.

Well put! I wholeheartedly agree. It’s all about moving on and tying up loose ends as you go. That’s what growing up and maturity are about, and I think at this point in this particular franchise, it felt right for me. I liked it a lot and still do.

Uncharted definitely served as a learning ground for them in so many different ways. Story, characters, tech, you name it. There are elements of TLOU2 that you could absolutely trace back to having an origin in UC2, and I find that fascinating.

UC4 is the best of that series by far, and probably Naughty Dog’s crown jewel. You will enjoy it. I just got finished replaying it myself.
