This is the kind of thing that gives me at least a smidge of faith in humanity. Hell of a story, David.

Oh man, I’m feeling this so hard. So many memories of my ‘92 Mazda Protégé.... The endless mix tapes for and from friends/girlfriends/girls I WANTED to be my girlfriend. The pen that fit JUUUUUST right to rewind the tape when the player ate it. The series of clicks before “Hanging On A Heartbeat” and after “Nervous

My beloved ‘03 Ford Explorer Sport Trac (RIP) had 250,000 miles on it when the engine quit. Never had a problem with it before then, with the exception of suspension parts I wore the hell out of. In hindsight I wish I’d just had the engine replaced. My ‘99 Explorer Sport that I had before that made it to 225k with no

I pity the fool who doesn't give this a star.

...covered in oil, bloodied and bruised by a rusty bit of angle iron, laying in the mud at a scrapyard.”

When I bought my much-beloved ‘03 Explorer Sport Trac (RIP) the previous owner had forgotten the door code. I spent an afternoon prying up part of the dash and trying to peer down gaps below the windshield to see where the factory had placed the sticker with the code on it, somewhere on the passenger side upper

I’m gonna miss this friggin’ guy. His eternal optimism and love for all things ‘80s and ‘90s are most enjoyable. Plus I always kind of theorized he was the one talking David out of buying so many of the rusting hulks he sees........

You’re BACK! I’m so excited (I’m so.... I’m so.... I’m scared!)!! Your style and voice is needed in this mad, mad, mad, mad world!

I don't know why there's so much hate on the Sport Trac. I had one and I loved it. The bed was just capable enough for everything I needed it to do, which included moving bikes, stone, and 10'x8' panels strapped in appropriately. Best vehicle I've ever owned and I'd get another one if I could.

This is the post I needed today. This is it, right here.

Jason Torchinsky: The hero we deserve AND the one we need right now.

There is nothing I don’t love about this. 100% would quarantine

Take your star and your big stack of blueberry pancakes.

Good luck to you, Blackstock. You’ve got an incredibly unique voice, and I look forward to reading your novel at some point. Also, I don’t know if you ever got used to the fine works of PennDOT or the wonders that are Pennsylvania thoroughfares, but I hope one day you’ll think of our glorious swiss-cheese highways and

You wrote some of my favorite articles on the site, and had some of the gutsiest takes I’ve ever seen. You’re one hell of a writer, a badass, and I hope to read your stuff in the future at your new publication, even though I have no business and am generally outside.

The rest of the band actually cited Vince's desire to focus more time on Indy Lights as a reason he was kicked out of the band in '92. I don't remember what car this was in the picture but I feel like he had a failed ownership venture in the late 80s.

You mean you’d never been privy to this work of art before?

Such a good article, Alanis. I’ve been a huge NASCAR and racing in general fan since I was a kid. Nowadays I still love the sport, but I’m finding I do have a tough time trying to reconcile my fandom with this I find truly troubling. If one day I have kids and want to introduce them to racing I worry about what I’ll

Sometimes I worry that your brakes are always the “Meh, maybe they’ll work, maybe they won’t, s’no big deal” part of your adventures.
