Jane Eyre, such a great book!

I also liked Jane Eyre and To Kill a Mockingbird. The Lord of the Rings has a special place in my heart because my Dad and I read it together when I was young. He read the first books to me, by the end I could read them myself. If you’re homebound and get tired of reading, start listening to the new season of Serial,

Wuthering Heights. Romantic. Scary. Insane. Beautiful.

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller changed my life as a 16 year old, it’s one of those books that people either love or hate.

Yowch. Hope you feel better! As for books, I never get tired of The Grapes of Wrath or The Good Earth. Both put me into a fuck yeah proletariat mindset. :)

I did something similar when I was bed-bound after my gallbladder surgery. Turns out A Tale of Two Cities wasn’t as boring as I remembered in high school. (Lucie, the “heroine”, was still as dull as dishwater.)

Just finished reading Jane Eyre. And I loved it! Cannot recommend it enough, it was a wonderful read that made me laugh out loud on the train several times.

Slaughterhouse Five or On the Road. Both are quick reads but you’ll never forget either.

Little Women, love me some March sisters.

Anna Karenina. :)

Ugh! Feel better! Anything Hemingway! I also loved Anna Karenina. A Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich was also really great, and short, if you are looking to bang one off and feel productive.

I love Cold Sassy Tree, but I don’t know if that’s a classic? Read it in high school. Also, His Dark Materials is amazing and is a thick one if you read the whole trilogy.

Middlemarch. Hands down. It’s got that piercing insight into small-town life that I love, paired with Eliot’s deep human sympathies and incredible wit. It’s one of those books that not only showed me a slice of the world, but taught me to know myself better. It’s beautiful, and powerful, and I cannot recommend it

Catch 22. Such a good book.

Any woman who doesn’t get inspired to become a serial killer (a la Dexter) after working in business is a feminist hero. HUGS.

Yeah I appreciate you heroes who read those comments first to warn the rest of us to not tread there.

I saw her video on Facebook, and made the mistake of reading the comments. Not only did people think that it was -her- personal story (reading is hard, y’all), but those who did usually also berated her for being “selfish” for thinking she’s more important than the fetus of the abusive boyfriend. It was a tidal wave

“I’m up here presenting because I’m a famous, talented, gifted, respected actor. And now, without further ado, I’ll announce the all-white nominees who have been declared to be stronger performers than me or literally any other minority entertainer!”
