i only know of this dude from his appearances on several of anthony bourdain’s shows.  i don’t recall any of his food looking particularly appetizing but it did seem weird and fancy.

he was on several episodes of anthony bourdain’s shows. listening to anthony bourdain talk about his experiences coming up as a chef this isn’t surprising that employees weren’t treated great. people in charge perpetuating the environment they came up through onto the next generation.

i can understand canceling a show if under performing or it gets too expensive, but why remove it from your service entirely.  i really don’t understand what they are doing.

i remember Stephen Fry explaining what digestives were on an episode of QI. he said they were initially introduced claiming to prevent you from farting after meals, i guess also burping too. but studies have shown they never were able to do that. but i guess that is the same school of thinking of alcohol aperitifs and

i remember playing in soccer tournaments as a kid in lexington and seeing fazoli’s.  i always ordered pasta when eating out at that age so a fast food italian place blew my mind.  i think our team ate there at least once a day while the tournament was going on.  i always hoped they would expand to my town since they

don’t forget school ties.

i don’t think they ever made a haggis sandwich.

i don’t think the mcrib is great but i don’t think it is awful either. if people didn’t like it they never would bring it back or keep it on the menu. the mcrib kind of similar to a king rib which you can find in scotland but with bbq sauce added.

my brother in law works 3 days a week 12 hours a day at a manufacturing plant.  fortunately he isn’t on his feet all day but he does have to walk around a bunch when he is.  he said he just treats it as exercise.  he said being off 4 days a week really helps him spend more time with their kids which is helpful since

i learned to drive stick in manual in norway on a 1st gen fiat panda. it was the worst piece of crap car i have ever been in my life. my norwegian friend said if i hit a mailbox going 15 mph we would all be killed. also, i don’t think it could hit the speed limits on the highways.

i forget where i was when i just saw them put 2 brats on 1 round roll.

if you hate jelly beans and are allergic to chocolate, peeps are about your only option on easter. and peeps are terrible.

the article in the local paper here said it would give them 13% share of the US grocery market, but that they would still be behind walmart’s 22% share.  not sure why they would let walmart be so much bigger than their next largest competition by disallowing the merger.

i would have thought here in kentucky it would have been apple, pecan, or derby pie as the number one.

Chi-Chi’s was headquartered here for a while. I was surprised they closed but then again I never saw their parking lots closed. It seemed like another local chain, Tumbleweed took over most of their spot and demand until other chains like Don Pablo’s showed up. Now most all of them are gone and we are filled with fast

Don Pablo’s was always the place me and my friends would go eat when we couldn’t get everyone to agree where to go eat.  Bottomless chips and salsa.

Duncan Hines started in a similar way.  He was a traveling salesman and in the 30's he started assembling a list of restaurants that he would recommend to friends traveling through various areas.  I believe he even ended up with a newspaper column and published a book on it.  It wasn’t about fine dining but it was a

cheese and waffles?  why not go full college student and top it with kraft mac & cheese? seems just as odd a combination. or that canned nacho cheese.

the only thing i have ever seen branded as kodiak around here is dip/chewing tobacco. so at first i thought this was a weird market shift for them.

rally’s is from here but they were bought by checkers after i was done with college. rally’s was always really good and really cheap. it was the place all the broke high school and college kids would go to. but after they got purchased by carl’s jr/hardees and then checkers their quality went to shit and most of the
