The news did. CBS has determined within the first 3 hours of his name being identified that he had an Explosive user permit handler license from NOvember 2013 which expired in November of 2016. Right there.

The cops could have easily checked the Tennessee Dept of Natural resources for a storage and use permit of explosives.

you forgot to mention that said alleged bomb maker, also previously had a permit as a demolitions/bomb making... guy ...(no idea you can get a permit to deal with explosives as a civilian without working at a rock quarry or other line of work that uses those things.)

If the person you were accusing of a crime was a black and brown person, the cops would have been more likely to take you seriously using historic precedent. There was no evidence this woman was mentally ill.

He used the IRA playbook from the 1980s, basically; car bomb, near a public building but at a time of day when it would be deserted, recorded warnings to evacuate. That was their MO for garnering attention without racheting up the body count at the time.
