All the Birches Call Me Big Poplar

You may be thinking of Big Poplar’s rule of one car length for every 10 mph. One second for every 10 mph would mean that you’re leaving a gap of 719 feet between you and the next car, travelling at 70 mph. That’s a LOT of gap, and plenty of room to stop completely even if the car ahead of you came to an immediate

The two second rule would result in a little more - about 160 feet, which would be about 10 car lengths. That may seem generous but most cars require about that amount of distance to stop.

Two seconds is the rule, not two car lengths. Some even say three seconds. The problem with leaving that large a gap between you and the car ahead is that someone coming up from behind thinks that’s there for them to pass you. That’s my most hated behavior of tailgaters.

The invention of an auto-loading cannon or railgun that fits on that vehicle.

Totally agreed, but at least the price is reflective of both a) the work put in to make this car as damn pretty and clean as it is and b) the desirability of an e30 this road going and not beat up. I clicked NP because it just tips the scales (for me) but I would REALLY hesitate to pull the trigger on what is still

I’m sure a pristine 318is is probably worth $12K to someone, but who on Earth is actively seeking the best version of the wrong engine???

Best 318is on the market? Yes.

Even if it does, it can still be fixed the same way, as this isn’t a structural issue.

You could easily fix this for under $1000.00.

It’s so sad that Connecticut; a supposed bastion of blue-statedness; has a choice between that particular piece of foulness and a ‘former’ Republican who won’t renounce his former party and only changed after losing 3 separate self-financed runs for Senate.  Joe Lieberman Jr.; if you will.

And think of all those chemicals that are in vaccines! Like the dihydrogen monoxide, and saline!!! Can’t have that in our children!

It sounds like one of those made-up holidays, like National Donut Day. On National Emery Day we celebrate by posting our groomed nails on social media.

I totally see his point, because measles only kills a few of the kids who get it, while brain damage and vision loss are rare side effects.

I can’t decide which aspect of today’s Barf Bag to comment on...

but isn’t caffeine dehydrating?

The republican candidate for governor in Connecticut was recorded saying he didn’t believe the government should be able to tell people they had to vaccinate their children, and that he didn’t think “we should be dumping all those chemicals in our kids,” so that’s fun. 538 has Lamont, the democrat, in the lead, and I

What’s a “National Emery?” Is this a side dish you serve with roasted Covfefe?

Not only did you murder an innocent American resident and dismember him with a bone saw, but you did so without ever once stopping to think about how that would make Donald Trump feel!

I’ve never heard of Amazon dropping a customer for returning items.

Exactly. Though you aren’t “returning” anything, so much as just “cancelling an order,” so that seems more forgivable. Right?
