Why would the drivetrain change the braking? AFAIK, switching from 2WD to 4WD or using AWD doesn’t affect the separate hydraulic braking system: it’s not just happenstance, it’s meant to compartmentalize the system itself; that’s why most modern vehicles have two separate master cylinder resevoirs...one for front, one

Jordan was pointing out that ABS doesn’t make you slow down any faster; and soundman98 pointed out that the point of ABS is to create directional control during braking in slick conditions, not actually brake faster.

“I’m from San Diego, but I moved to Minneapolis to avoid the cold weather.”

Make sure you have the proper thermostat for your engine and climate, as well.  A 120-degree thermostat’s going to warm your engine up faster than a 220-degree thermostat.

I think you’re imaging things; as someone said upthread, you’re probably just experiencing a more stable pull by activating 3-or-more wheels gripping when accelerating out of the apex.  The ABS and ASC / TCS systems are completely unrelated.

Drop it into lower gear...not like you’re putting massive amounts of undue stress on the clutch or anything.

Great point; and since it’s so nice outside, maybe check the thermostat. Between the gaskets and the thermo itself, you might spend $30 - $40 and an hour replacing it. This is something anybody can do with a 13mm / 1/2-inch wrench, and it’s going to make your car warm up so much faster.

Definitely the best advice I’ve seen so far, but #7 is not an obtainable method by any means. You generally get 0-degrees to 100-degree (F), or you get 20-degrees to 120-degrees (F). You have to special-order proper oil for driving in sub-zero temps, but anybody who needs it already knows it.

I have to deal with idiots that drive like this as soon as we start getting flurries. The ground isn’t even cold yet, but some moron decides it’s safer to merge onto the 55 MPH freeway at 45 MPH; this backs up traffic on the on-ramp in already-slippery conditions, and now I have to deal with this idiot?

That’s definitely a factor, as is maintaining angular-momentum when you lose lateral traction; the only way to counter that is with literal traction, and the only way to maintain forward momentum is to punch the gas.  Try braking into the skid; unless you can sling yourself through the apex, you should just pull over

Right?

Or speed the fuck up.  Merging onto a snowy Interstate 10 MPH-under is only going cause more accidents.  How about if you don’t know how to drive, just stay home?

Don’t forget that she was an orphan, stripper, a Madame, and eventually ran her own successful French fashion line, on top of that.

To be fair, Redmond, WA is to the north-east of Maroon.

Yep; I’m having a conversation with a conspiracy theorist and getting absolutely nowhere. This article didn’t help me at all!

Just listened to one of his podcasts, and Holy Shit is he completely insane. Current evidence of extra-terrestrial life-forms existing, he seriously believes Big-Foot exists, not expounding on primate teeth and bones. Not a single Big-Foot carcass has ever been found, Joe? But Air Force video that emphatically shows

Exactly! I go home, pop a 6-pack, beat-off and watch some TV before passing out. Who cares? I fall asleep, wake-up, and develop a braking system by 9:00 AM. If you have a problem with an employee, sit them down and have The Conversation with them...get your shit together, or resign.

Agreed; that’s a huge red flag if someone tells me they don’t do anything but watch TV or aspire to be an Influencer.

He does Bigfoot-a-Searchin’ in his own time; you can’t fire him for that.
