Yeah...I sort of hate that this movie is being used as the laundry line that airs these issues. It’s an important point that deserves to be heard, but this is literally the third article I’ve read online about The Big Sick mainly discussing issues with white women/Asian men onscreen. It starts feeling like a…
Thank you. I came here to say this. People keep asking for stories about real people that are inclusive. THIS IS A FUCKING REAL STORY THAT IS INCLUSIVE. SO REAL IN FACT THAT IT FUCKING HAPPENED. Unless white women now have to either date within their race or no one is allowed to tell true stories about interracial…
It is indeed based on their true story:
I agree but isn’t this particular movie a true story? I don’t think it belongs quite in the same category because it was Kumail’s real life experience with his current partner and not a fictional creation. Thoughts?
My god, the “famous person says something fundamentally supportive in an imperfect* way so let’s shit on him” genre has to die.
The cast of TD S2 wasn’t the main problem. It was the writing. The story made no sense. I work in real estate and I get bored getting into the weeds of a deal, so I can imagine the viewers loved hearing about zoning and easements. Even with the murder and weird sex there was nothing to care about.
Coincidentally, he’s also what Luke Cage needed for at least half a season to build sufficient quantities goodwill to excuse what became a mess of a show after Ali left.
YEAH BRO LETS TAKE SOME AXE BODY SPRAY AND INJECT IT DIRECTLY INTO OUR BRAINS. JUST DON’T GET ANY ON MY AFFLICTION SHIRT
Ich bin heute sehr stolz auf mein Land :)
Meh they could make the academy half female and it still won’t change the people funding and greenlighting films so this won’t really help.
Seriously, a soaring ballad about how awesome inclusivity is in the circus? It doesn’t have to be terrifyingly brutal, but there was a lot of exploitation and cruelty. Side note: The PT Barnum museum located in Bridgeport CT has been in a state of disrepair along with the city itself for years. If this movie can help…
Thank you for mentioning this.
I wondered the same. Did the Barnum estate pay to produce this PR fairytale?
why would I watch this when I could rewatch The Prestige
How does everyone not know this already haha?
“Bad writing” is rarely an acceptable reason for anything for diehard Kingdom Hearts fans, unfortunately......
I think the real explanation here is bad writing. Sora and Kairi definitly have a romantic connection in the first game. Then by the time the second game rolls around Nomura has turned Sora into the typical anime idiot protagonist, who is a one dimensional simpleton and the butt of all the jokes. I think more focus…
this game was in development long before the film was a twinkle in anyone’s eye.
But it’s not coming out anywhere near the release of the movie. Barring potential delays, the game would be coming out earliest six months after the movie. And that’s the earliest because “Early 2018" is a pretty wide window.
