To be honest, I think the darkness of the setting and the overall theme of love had an interesting dissonance that gave weight to the payoff. If the setting and the theme are more closely-aligned, I’m not sure it will be as interesting.

I fucking love underbuttons. Ever since I got an FPS Master controller to beat my roommates at the original Halo, I’ve been hooked. I spent the entire 360/ps4 generation wishing that such a thing still existed, and the Pro controller is the main reason I spend more time on my XBone than my PS4.

I thought it was amusing that two major FPSes released less than a month apart had a level with such a specific and unique concept. I agree that Titanfall 2 executed it a little better, but I found both levels to be highpoints of the last year or so of gaming for me (granted, most of the rest of it has been grinding

I thought it was weird how Dishonored 2 has a level built around almost exactly the same concept, even though I have no reason to believe either game copied the other. The one in Titanfall 2 was much better-done, though.

Well of course it isn’t. The only thing that would be good enough would be the Pope saying “Actually this has all been a joke this whole time. We’ll be donating all our gold to an actual charity now, and hopefully people will stop believing the nonsense we’ve been spouting for almost two millennia.”

Right, and so would I. The world would be a better place if the Catholic Church ceased to exist. That’s not the world we live in, though. We live in a world that has lots of Catholics in it, including some who still think the Church is non-evil and even a few who still think the Church is still a moral authority.

I grew up in Ireland, where abortion is still illegal due to Catholic bullshit and a constitutional amendment they pushed through right before Ireland decided it didn’t want to be a theocracy any more. I’ll take their opprobrium if it means I don’t have to put up with their legislation.

Not necessarily thank them - but how about not shit on them for it. Steps in the right direction, however small, should not be punished.

St. Patty’s day? As in St. Patricia? Why is he posting about that in March?

I don’t think there’s very much one can do. When someone is as ill as that, they’re not going to be argued away from their position. Hell, even healthy people tend to change their opinions more for emotional reasons than rational ones.

I mean, at this point I think she has diminished responsibility for pretty much anything. It looks like she’s so ill that she shouldn’t be in charge of her own affairs; someone should probably have power of attorney over her. Ideally, she would have a close family member who could take away her social media keys, for

She’s also brain-damaged. In light of that, I find that her situation evokes more depression than opprobrium.

She’s also severely brain-damaged. I don’t think it’s cool to make fun of her in light of that. Sure, she wasn’t exactly playing with a full deck before her overdose, but it’s clear that she is now a mentally disabled person.

People completing this is article-worthy? So what you’re saying is that I shouldn’t have chosen a no-powers, no-kills, no-detections run for my first playthrough?

When I saw a headline starting with “EA Requires YouTubers and Streamers to...”, I was already getting pre-emptively outraged by what was to come. To go from that state to “actually, that sounds like a pretty reasonable thing to to do” was a surprise.

They couldn’t invite one single guest with the wherewithall to bring some Bannon quotes to back up their accusations? They seem to have all assumed that because this guy is an idiot so they can walk all over him. His supporters will watch this video and think he won the argument hands-down.

I also saw this movie, and I also liked it. I sense a consensus developing.

It was clear to me that you knew that - I was just clarifying for less-familiar American readers.
