Cops are not public servants. They are executioners meting summary sentences to the powerless. I’m a white male and they frighten me. I can barely imagine how minorities feel about them.

Recently at the library where I work we had a younger black man get his phone stolen, and he was angry about it to the point of storming around threatening to get a gun and shoot people, decapitate the person who stole the phone with a knife, and other threats of death and grievous bodily harm. There were 4 security…

Even one shot would have been too many, obviously. But seven fucking shots? How much do you have to hate someone to shoot them seven times?

So didn’t bother to bring any non-lethal gear, didn’t try backing off and leaving the house with the kid if needs be, or calling for assistance in dealing with someone with mental health issues?

If two cops can’t fend off a woman with a knife without killing her, you (a) probably shouldn’t be a cop, or (b) whoever trained you shouldn’t train cops (and also - you shouldn’t be a cop).

Maybe you need to revisit that period, since we never actually declared war on Germany, kiddo.

If you think this isn’t at least partly a gender thing you are a fool. That man would not have treated another man in the same way as her in this situation, and so the term is apt in this case. Not particularly worried about that. Very few people on the left support Antifa because, well, violence and intimidation are wrong. And as for the right coming around to drop hot Faux News takes, they’re fun to ridicule.

I mean, I’m all for getting rid of Nazis, but Antifa are borderline terrorists. They use violence, intimidation, and rioting and property destruction to frighten white supremacists and fascists. Their goal is correct but their methodology is extremely illegal.

Abuse of power has always been an issue with police, but it now seems to take on a dangerous new glow under this Trump/Sessions police-can-do-no-wrong administration.
