Unusual circumstances, but I am about to fly from PA to FL to buy a well-maintained Honda from a relative. Bonus that my wife and I are both teachers, so this is an opportunity to kick off the summer with a road trip.

Edges and creases.

My trusted local mechanic says it’s Hyundai's decision to use low-tension oil control rings to reduce friction. My wife’s 2017 Sorento with 77k miles has used 7 quarts during this 5000-mile oil change interval.

Couple days late with this reply, but it’s interesting to note that the final models of Checker cabs rolled off the line in 1982, so there’s two years’ worth of production that could be included in Other. I'm sure they were being produced in very low volume by that time, but there it is.

I’m with you, one of my favorites was the green Matchbox Cougar Villager wagon with the opening tailgate (pic is not mine, but I have two in the basement exactly like it).

Honda Accord.

As a kid in the early 80s I used to buy Tomicas at Toys R Us. A few of these are survivors from back then, many have been picked up at yard sales and toy shows over the years.

At 5:34-5:35, is that a white Mustang parked on the right? As in one of the big fat '71-'73 models with the horizontal rear window? Never would have expected to see that in Paris...

And and I thought I was the only one who remembered that...

You mean "dynamiq"

When I was in high school a friend of mine had a ‘62 Starfire for a while. 394 with a 4-barrel, dual exhaust, and glasspacks. I think that was the best-sounding car any of us had in high school.

Should I hate this? I definitely feel like I should hate this, but I'm having a hard time hating it. I legitimately lol'd when I saw it.

I disagree. This “thing” was named and marketed by the spiritual successors to Leo Beebe. Or at least by the types he represented in the movie.

They’re not they’re not the first ones, either. There was a time in the 90s when Oldsmobile put the Cutlass name on everything but the division manager’s golf cart.

Yeah no I absolutely did not. I could probably have scratched up the $1800 purchase price, but it's the cost of the inevitable divorce.that would have killed me...

I’ve been telling myself this is a bad idea
