The ‘COVID hoarding’ was perfectly capped by Brooks’ ‘I just bought this place, it used to be a CVS’

I’ll bet Panic Room was not fun to make. Fincher gets good results, but I think he pushes people over the edge. And I bet Jared Leto just makes everyone listen to Thirty Seconds to Mars between takes.
– mining Larry’s (and his cohort’s) increasingly advanced age has loads of potential (‘two feeble things’ was tonight’s winner), but when do the guys stop getting together with much younger women?
I feel like that was the subtext of the funeral plotline. And those end credits felt oddly poignant and moving, maybe there was something only Larry knows about it - perhaps to him, watching the orchestra play the theme with Bob’s brother is the next best thing to Bob still being around.
The house was built in 1919 and includes three bedrooms, four bathrooms
What is this, the 1920's? Nobody should be getting injured on TV sets in 2021. I struggle to understand how this can happen in the world’s most litigious country.
Her demographics don’t matter, and her firing isn’t anti-free speech.
I don’t think it’s so much defending his position as the right to state it. There are obviously calls to remove it from Netflix, which is hard to see as anything but censorship. I’d rather it be out there for people to discuss than be erased. I also expect that people who agree with him were already predisposed…
Wow, that was the most polite “This person suuuuucks” I’ve ever read in my life.
“Cancellation doesn’t exist”
Was it soup?
Watching King of the Hill again, and I’m struck by how talented Murphy was as a voice-over actress, to say nothing of how great she was in her live movies. Not gonna comment on the documentary, just to praise Murphy one more time.
As wrong as what Chappelle said is, some of the calls to take his special down sound to me like they’re using “video games cause violence” logic.
If this ends with Netflix making some donation to a worthy cause, then fine. Nothing wrong with that. But, assuming that these employees genuinely wanted Netflix to remove the special, hopefully it shows some guts and leaves it up.
Will admit that I let a tiny thread of hope take hold about Mindhunter. Alas.
The Lazy Susan bit might have been the highlight of the season.
I unapologetically love the character of Roy, every single thing Goldstein does as him works, there’s never a false moment even if the scripts are throwing ever more windy unnecessarily soap operatic moments at him and Keely.
I hope it’s Skeet Ulrich playing Matthew Lillard.
He lets anaphylaxis do the dirty work.
From what I can find 44 Trans people where murdered in 2020 out of 21,570 reported murders. Murders are tragedies but it is Dave Chappelle who is a member of the demographic facing violence not a software engineer working at Netflix. A point made in his show about what gets you backlash.
