He’s also not on the ballot in 49 states

These were apparently only ads with celebrity cameos in them.

It’s been sampled by Mariah Carey and last year by Latto (both into inescapabale top 5 hits), and it literally may be the most frequently played Talking Heads-adjacent music still getting regular rotation. Weymouth/Franz have probably made more money off it than anything they did with TH.

That was one of the key issues — most people (including those in the audience) had no idea who he was, so it was tough to get them on his side during the rough parts. He got no benefit of the doubt.

In contrast, I always though Conan O’Brien was one of the best at acknowledging jokes that bombed.

Can we just all agree to call it “X/Twitter” to save space and redundancy

That G is for Grammy.

Well, obviously the puppet show itself was heightened for us, the viewer — the characters didn’t experience it that way (I assumed they were just watching Dot move her doll around and make voices). This show has had enough supernatural elements (like the UFO in season 2?) that the puppet show in and of itself didn’t

Definitely not true for Fried Green Tomatoes — there was criticism at the time that the film excised all lesbian content from the book (watching it now recently, they really do seem just like really good friends. It was certainly not simply a matter of contemporary interpretation). Color Purple gets it a little better

I cracked up the entire time. The black widow joke hit best

What is the point you’re making?

Someone suggested it last week, but maybe we are setting up a scenario where the pastor unexpectedly leaves Ada money after his passing, and Agnes now has to bend the knee to her sister!

In other news, they are reallllly slow-walking the Marion-Larry relationship. We know that’s where this is heading.

I watch hours of NFL every weekend (49ers fan here) and listen to Taylor Swift constantly (via wife and kids) and this article is the first time I’ve heard of it.

I mean, imagine your spouse’s uncle did something bad, but everybody always had to be at Thanksgiving together. Are you going to issue an ultimatum every November that it’s either you or him, or just keep going and be polite for the limited time you’re together?

Yes -- Aniston is quite good in this, depite the fact that plays a character somewhat adjacent to real life. Witherspoon is good too -- I think people take her for granted because she very effortlessly plays strong-willed and determined characters.

Agreed on Diaz. I did a rewatch recently and was expecting much, much worse. She acquitted herself well. (Though DiCaprio should never do accents. Better to find a plot reason why he talks like an ‘90s American or simply ignore it — i.e. Titanic — then have him attempt another one.)

If anything, like several films on

The writers can fix this by placing Daily Doubles anywhere on the board, not just on the lower-level clues (I think this very site interviewed a writer once who said they are, as a rule, never in the first row). That would make going top-to-bottom as random as bouncing to find them.

It didn’t make sense to me watching the show, and doesn’t make sense after reading this: Why in the hell would Stella blabber about possibly making $14 mil a year as CEO to her boss and others? I think any rational actor in the same situation would sign it, keep quiet, and wait for the dominoes to fall.

Yes, Midnight Mass is the best, and has some of the best acting and production design too.

The only Marvel movie it was remotely like was the first Dr. Strange.  And that didn’t even feel like a Marvel movie really.
