You’re such a Samantha

Bad take

THIS is cinema.

Midnight Mass was so good. Truly his best work. Hamish Linklater should’ve won the Emmy.

It also annoyed me that Frasier won Best Comedy at the Emmys for many many years at a row at a time when other sitcoms (Seinfeld, Larry Sanders) were muuuuuch funnier and deserved the accolades.

I laughed out loud at Jon Hamm pretending to be Larry David. “Who is that racist against? Susans?? How about indefatigable Susan, or ambidextrous Susan!”

they do?

It did seem like they were teasing a move to L.A. in the finale, with a few characters (no spoilers) hinting that they’d be on the west coast keeping in touch. But not sure that’s possible after the very last scene..

But all those same issues about how many people are watching, did someone leave the room, etc. are prevalent with normal TV too. Nielsen tracks it nonetheless

I don’t expect it to be part of the deal, but a true way to measure streaming data would be great (both for the industry and for fans). Netflix’s “235 million minutes of this show were streamed last month!” is the most useless metric I’ve ever seen.

How about: “23 million people finished Episode 5 of ‘Suits’ this

Don’t drag Woody Allen into this

“in his system” ... I think shrooms leave your system in like 24 hours?

Juke’s “Golden Hour” was also a brilliant choice for that final montage. Bittersweet, forlorn, hopeful.

I *do* bet the Aidan situation is somehow resolved when the show returns. Not sure why they would otherwise put the characters through all of that — and then suggest the relationship is *not* over — only to never speak of him again.

It was unclear why she couldn’t visit him in Virginia. Or why.. even let’s say, in a year.. his son wouldnt’t be well enough to allow his dad to leave for a weekend here and there? And finally, that once he’s 18 (in 3 years) he’d be at college somewhere..

Seasons. In America we call them Seasons.

I love this song!

“...which caused controversy after film’s the first trailer dropped...

Do people whining on Twitter mean controversy is caused?

I just feel like it’s too inward/introspective of a performance, and those rarely win. Would be happy to be wrong. But you’re right -- it’s sparse competition this year with the strike looming.  At the moment my money’s on Bradley Cooper for Maestro (the Leonard Bernstein movie).
