Yeah, this is clearly Gosling vs. Downey for Supporting Actor. Gosling has zero shot in Lead Actor.

Oppenheimer: Murphy will 100% get a nod but has 0% chance to win. Emily Blunt will finally get a nod for a fine performance that is nonetheless much less interesting than other stuff she’s been in, as Oscar is wont to do (see: Patricia Clarkson in 2003, Maggie Gyllenhaal in 2009). Downey Jr. is clearly the frontrunner

If you’re touring across the world with a multiplatinum music superstar who puts on risque musical stage shows every night, you might not. It’s not like these employees were working at an insurance office.

Yes, I’m surprised the blurb didn’t mention the actual JOKE he said at that appearance. I can hear it in my head right now in his voice.

A collection that’s, in a sense, immaculate.

Madonna had a one-in-a-generation 1985 on the charts: Like a Virgin, Material Girl, Crazy for You, Into the Groove, Dress You Up. Imagine all those songs being released across different albums and soundtracks over such a short span of time.. we will not see that kind of dominance in our lifetimes with actually good

Why is she at so many parties with Hollywood celebrities who apparently know her age?

Your last points is spot on.

Anyone remember his short arc on Six Feet Under a few years before The Office (although he looked/acted about 10 years younger). Brief, touching quasi-romance with Ruth in the morgue.

It said “full nudity” not “full-frontal nudity”.. is there a difference?

What was keeping her with him after just a few months of dating? There were no threats, no violence. People *can* just leave a shitty but non-abusive relationship and go on their way quietly.

Yeah.. if he didn’t want her to surf with men and pose in bathing suits.. why didn’t she just break up with him?

That was a poorly written sentence. The intent was: “IF someone had gotten canceled or there were creative differences, THEN Gad would’ve hit all of the bingo spots.” But it hadn’t happened that way.

And then Tom Hanks came back from the island and complicated it even more.

Sadly, it does seem like the pandemic ruined the Pixar brand. Kids have now been conditioned to get these movies instantly whenever they want instead of going to the theater. And it doesn’t help that the quality seems to have suffered at exactly the same time (Onward, Lightyear, just too many sequels).

It may have been “happening” for centuries, but virtually every grammar school child from the last century is taught that “he/she” is singular and “they” is plural (at least into the 1980s, when I was in grammar school). Were others also tough to use “he or she” when you don’t know the gender of a sentence’s singular

Ugh I didn’t like that comment either, and I really like Adebiri. You’re an actor, not a writer. Collaboration is fine, but Ortega’s complaints sounded whiny and pretentious.

I thought I read somewhere a long time ago that Perrineau’s character was written off because his onscreen son Walt grew so tall between seasons that it just wasn’t believable for him to be the same age over the series (in which not that much time actually goes by, at least for long stretches).
