It is by far my favorite film of the excellent film year of 2007 (yes, better than “No Country for Old Men”). Fantastic lead performance and one of the best commentaries of the American drive for greed and power. Soundtrack, cinematography, production design -- it’s an A+ on every level.

It is terrific, so many quotable lines and great performances.

You can’t, you won’t, and you don’t stop talking to them.

That’s why you’re the judge and I’m the law-talking guy.

Totally agree! Completely underrated. Never thought I’d see an article like this, about one of my top 2-3 REM albums.

Fun fact: Right after college, I was applying to be a writer for some pop culture website, and the writing test was: “Explain why Warner Bros-era REM will never live up to IRS-era REM,” and I wrote a

I’ve nothing but raves for this elsewhere, can’t wait to check it out. Wish Ruth Negga was in more stuff.. haven’t seen her in anything since Loving.

Into the Wild is not bad, actually think it’s quite powerful in many parts (especially scenes with Catherine Keener and Hal Holbrook).

Another underdiscussed K-Stew film: Still Alice. She didn’t have a huge role, but got strong mileage out of her quieter scenes with Julianne Moore.

“Extraordinary Susan! indefatigable Susan!” was the funniest bit from last season.

Every time one of the actresses walked into the audition, I thought they were going to walk into the glass doors.

Financially liable, maybe. He’d never face jailtime, so it’s strange he felt he would. If it was just a matter of money, I don’t think Larry would go to these extreme lengths to hire the daughter.

It’s a little unfair saying “not good enough” for Alec Baldwin to take the word of the person whose sole job on the set was making sure the gun wasn’t loaded.

I hated it at the time (mostly confused until midway through if we were supposed to take what was happening at face value, or an allegory, or JLaw was crazy but everyone else was normal).. but then I saw it on HBO a month ago and everything totally fit together and I ended up really, really liking it.  It might need a

By far the worst effect in the movie (that had pretty decent effects otherwise for a low-budget 1984 indie).

It’s pretty focused on one week during the production of a single episode of I Love Lucy, from table read to taping.

Can you care about trans people but also want comedians to be able to joke about what they want? Definitely a middle ground here

“Lazy Susan? Who is that racist towards.. Susans?”

How do you actually click on specific comment links from the notifications page? When I try to go to responses/likes, it always just brings me to the top of the story

And Jimmy G in Memento! His best

I watched the Sopranos regularly while it was on, but missed the last episode because I moved out of state that weekend. And I never had a chance to watch it, just got caught up with a new job, forgot, heard it was bad, no one wanted to watch it with me, etc. Finally saw it last month and.. I liked it! I appreciated th
