There’s no “legacy” spot on Olympic teams. Or, ideally, there isn’t and shouldn’t be. Gabby did not have the scores to make the team last night. She finished SEVENTH.

Gabby placed seventh and she made it by the grace of her bars scores. I like her, but I don’t think she deserved a spot on the team. An alternate, maybe, but not a spot on the team, and not announced second. She had as much time as Aly Raisman to train since the 2012 games and Aly beat her by over 2 full points.
