"I have a very open and kind heart"

I've been keeping a close eye, as I'm sure the rest of Deadspin has, but I've actually been pleasantly surprised that the response here has been largely positive.

Oh, hell to the no.

I'd say it takes someone who has a solidly established career and is also a fashion world darling. Angelina's never really been the latter. Maybe Cate Blanchett.

I thought that was really weak of Tom Ford & that snarky fashion writer. So he didn't loan her the dress. She bought a Tom Ford, wore it well and raved about his designs!

If they want to commit career suicide, they can.

I feel like "who are you wearing" is not a big-deal question, and if they're wearing the dress for free, they should certainly provide some publicity for that designer. That's way different from "what did you eat today" or "what's your beauty secret" or "how do you stay so slim" etc etc.

I mean, they want the red carpet, they just want to be asked the same kind of questions the male actors are asked. Male actors may get a passing question about what brand of tux they're wearing, but not endless comments and questions about their fitness regimes.

Posted this on Hamilton's article, but I think it warrants repeating:

Either someone is dismissing comments with the quickness or the response to this article is much more positive than I'd expect. Good job, whoever gets credit.

Kind of hypocritical of Jez to take this position when Who-Is-She-Wearing red carpet threads are a mainstay of this place.

They can, but if they don't play the game by answering the inanity they won't get the "free" publicity or all the fun party clothes.

I'm all for women on the red carpet combating sexist comments and trolling silly questions. And "who are you wearing?" is a really silly question.

Great. Women should boycott the red carpet and make the whole event even more of a sausage fest than it already is.

I believe it likely that it will be the Kardashian link along with another E show to document this transition that will make it harder for even normally open-minded folks to not see this with a jaded or snarky eye. I know I have had to make a effort to get past Jenner's link to the reality show business to view him

Editor's note: We used the male pronoun in this piece because there has been no official confirmation from Jenner about a transition, nor has Jenner made clear any preference regarding pronouns. Please feel free to email me at marchman@deadspin.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Not very relevant to the article, but that is a bad ass Wheaties box cover. 10/10, would idolize while munching.

They do! These are the guys who think that women (ahem, "females") are completely different from men, and not humans. This use of "female" de-humanizes.

It's so true. Calling women "females" just screams, "I regularly peruse Reddit." It's like a little boy's way of trying to sound more educated and grown up.

I cannot recall a single instance where a guy referred to women as "females" when they were not an insecure and awkward person.
