It's always right.

Even if the resident parent pursues payments through the CSA payments reduce to zero for the duration of the non-resident parents prison sentence.

She's one hell of a lawyer, apparently. She argued that with his military training he could've if he wanted to, the fact he didn't actually kill her shows he totes didn't really mean to. I suspect the fact he eventually allowed her to call an ambulance played to his benefit too. Not that any of it should., he should

He wasn't convicted for attempted murder but "malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm". His lawyer successfully argued he wasn't trying to kill her because, with his military training, he could have if he wanted to. He was just trying to permanently disfigure her in a publicly visible way so

There's a kerfuffle between the UK and the European Court of Human Rights over whether prisoners should be allowed to vote or not. I don't know about child support but the child support system over here is a broken joke anyway so it often doesn't matter. Many lone parents (the vast majority of whom are female) don't

Because astonishingly he wasn't convicted of trying to murder her. From The Telegraph (a mildly better pace to give your clicks than the Daily Mail) (bolding mine):

I wouldn't say its uniquely British because dickheads with power reside everywhere, but when a family member divorced her husband of 20 years after discovering he'd had an affair for fifteen of them (and cleaned out their bank account and run away when she discovered it) the judge told her she was a silly woman for

The dismiss button is your friend!

I feel you. I go to gigs at least weekly. There's two things my friends joke about me, one is that I have a dick head beacon; the most annoying people in the crowd always seem to be wherever I am. The second is that whenever I'm not in the pit I always seem to be right next to the 'path' where people try to make

I'm a mega shortie and I hate it. I hit over 5 foot, which was my 4'11" mum's dream for me, but yeah I do NOT like it. I also do not wear heels either, so I stay this short always. Being short impacts negatively on my life some way multiple times a day and I hate it. Can't do a goddamned thing about it though.

I came here to say this! Ross is the WORST.

Tie. Dye. Bell. Bottoms.

My friend does 'No Pants Sunday'. We all pretty much agreed with her it's the only way.

I'd rather people didn't read than choose to read something which normalises abusive relationships.

Hah, I was wondering how and where they knew each other from, had completely forgotten about that!

The weird thing is it was just a throwaway silly segment in a larger profile/interview of the group in a teen pop magazine yet somehow it ended up EVERYWHERE.

Foreigner, little knowledge of your country, just saw Selma tonight. So. Alabama has always been a fucking wasteland of sense and decency then?

I grew up in a single parent household so I didn't see any other kind of dynamic; if something needed doing my mum got it done. I guess that heavily influences my perspective. But I can see how people who grow up seeing stereotypical gender divides being played out struggle to see the world any other way.

Basically I don't do jobs for other people. The "terrible job" thing always makes me inwardly laugh, 'cause I have learned not to care - and I had to learn myself because they don't teach you that. I try very hard to be cognizant that as a woman I was raised to see the need for 'more' when it comes to cleaning/admin

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this. I have spent the afternoon down a you tube rabbit hole of amazingness and just ordered her book. I only wish she would do some UK dates!
