They are Monroe’s plain and simple.  When they need to be replaced, you don’t get Ohlins, you get Monroe’s.  While Ohlins may have been involved, they are not an Ohlins product.

Great article Ralph! One thing, the VR does not have Ohlins. It has the infamous 4C Suspension. Great when it works but not very reliable and very expensive. Not that expensive when compared to the Ohlins that were first introduced on a Volvo with the S/V60 Polestar.

The answer is both yes and no. It has an older version of the 4C Suspension. It does not have Ohlins as the article says. The S/V60 Polestar are the only Volvos with Ohlins.

Stop what? He is spot on. Anyone that thinks this is anything but a 6 series with a new name is lying to themselves.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how wrong it is. You need to look at it in the context that this is a car from the 80's. The 80's wasn’t exactly a time of great design in any industry. While I am a big fan of the Testarossa and Countach, they were anomalies and don’t hold up to today’s designs or the

Having seen a bunch of these up close, pics do not do them justice...

That’s funny because you neither asked a question nor were you polite. You made a statement with a question mark on the end and said this...

I totally forgot that Elon was a one man show. Oh wait a second, doesn’t Tesla have over 30,000 employees and SpaceX over 5,000 employees? The Boring company, which he says occupies only about 2% of his time, probably has as many employees alone as Rimac’s 300.

You do know that they are being tested in many other places other than CA? One of the biggest test centers is Pittsburgh which sees every type of weather you can get. I am in full agreement that they need to be able to work in all situations but that only happens through testing. One way this happens is what Tesla is

“But in self-driving cars, so far the cars have accounted for 100% of the accidents”

Outside of people on this site that enjoy driving, the vast majority of the population does not. Outside of that, over 100 people/day, 37k+/year die in car accidents just in the US. Plain and simple, people suck at driving. Add on to that traffic is mostly caused by the same basic principle, people not knowing how to

So what exactly are you trying to imply then? The technology needs to be tested if it is going to improve. Are you saying that the 75% of drivers that don’t know how to drive in icy conditions shouldn’t be allowed on the roads either? Human drivers have had 100+ years to learn how to drive in these conditions and the

As I already said, my comment wasn’t aimed at Rimac. This car could already be a working prototype. He just hasn’t shown it to be yet. So until he actually does, people need to calm down with the hyperbolic articles. Especially when this very website has posted two working prototypes(Tesla Roadster & Aspark Owl) that

2 wrapped P*’s for your trouble...

That’s because you got the wrong year. You were missing both 2 cylinders and hydraulic steering. I personally don’t think the S60's compare well to the competition, which is why I have a ‘15.5 V60 which really has no competition at its price point. The ‘17's went to fully electric steering, plus the 4 cylinder. After

It both feels and sounds great to me every single day...

“1) This generation is based on the old Euro focus platform so a lot the mechanics are not super fancy. It has been around long enough that parts are plentiful and most problems (by 2015/2016 models like these examples) are already ironed out and fixed.”

My comments have nothing to do with Rimac itself as I agree they do amazing things. My comment was about the article itself. The point is that no they have not shown that this car can do anything. Everything about this car is “on paper”. It has been shown static on a stand in Geneva, that’s it. Tesla actually has a

I mean sure but it also ignores that the new Tesla Roadster has a nearly identical 0-60, a faster 0-100, a faster 1/4 and does it all for less than 1/4th the price. Tesla also showed it actually can do it, when the Rimac is all “just on paper” at this point. The Rimac will have much better refinement but not enough to
