To call this a production vehicle is also a bit of a stretch. They built a total of what 6 Concept Ones? They claim they will build 100 C Two’s. I’ll believe that when they are built and 100 cars is not really “production”.

It exists as much or actually more than this car does. Tesla showed off a working prototype and gave test rides to all attendees at the launch event. It has since been seen driving around LA and the Bay Area. No customer has stepped foot inside the Rimac. You can’t write an article like this car exists and act like…
You are spot on and my comment was not pointed at all towards Rimac. They know what they are. Mate has said many times that he has no desire to be a manufacturer. My comment was based on this line in the article...
Something crawl up your butt? Sorry if you don’t like for people to point out something that would be direct competition to this at a much lower price point. Look at the specs of both cars, only one of which has actually been demonstrated and say something intelligent. You can leave the fan boy hyperbole for someone…
You will be hard pressed to find many cheaper production cars that beat hypercars in 0-100 and 1/4 times but that wasn’t my point. My point was that Alanis, wrote this whole article as if the Tesla Roadster hadn’t already been shown with specs that beat basically everything this does for a fraction of the price. She…
So similar 0-60 as the new Tesla Roadster, but worse specs in every other regard (0-100, 1/4, range) and will cost anywhere from 4X to 8X more. This just makes the Roadster that much more impressive. Both cars are expected to come out around the same time and only the Roadster will be built in any decent volumes.
The V60 is the V90 just shorter. When you shorten the back end you end up with a flatter back, simple as that. As the owner of a current V60 P*, I’m very disappointed that they just made a carbon copy of the V90.
It’s because the claims are complete nonsense. The Kuna and Fanuc machines they use are hard tooling machines. Soft tooling machines are ones that use silicone molds. https://www.tth.com/whats-difference-soft-hard-tooling/.
1) I was mostly referring to home charging but workplace and public EV charging is growing and growing. The energy use can be easily offset with solar.
As I mentioned, the key for driving an EV in those conditions is pre-conditioning both the battery and the interior while it is still plugged in. If the battery is too cold, things like re-gen will not work. When you spend the time to warm the interior before getting in, you can use things like seat heaters to keep…
While Porsche could be conservative with their times, they are not over a full second to 60 conservative.
Right from the article “Porsche estimates the Mission E’s 0 to 60 time at something in the mid 3-seconds, and top speed will be limited to 155 mph, which should be adequate for most buyers.”
Or Tesla is actually building some of the most advanced factories in the world. They use KUKA machines in the main Fremont factory and Fanuc machines in the Gigafactory. These are two of the most advanced “smart” machines on the market today. If you are ever in CA, you should take a tour as it is pretty amazing what…
A very quick demo of power to weight would be the 0-60 time and the Porsche with similar power levels is expected to be almost a second slower to 60, so there goes that theory.
One has absolutely nothing to do with the other. There are auto companies that are unable to sell the cars that they produce and then there are companies that are production constrained. Tesla is a company that has been production constrained since the day Model S went live. This means that regardless of how much they…
Sure, it’s not like they just added 126 new SC locations in just Q3 and already have over 1,000 stations with over 7,000 connectors. Remind again how many Jaguar has deployed? Not just 50kW connectors either, actual 100kW+ ones. I’ll help you out, the answer is zero. Jaguar hasn’t deployed any stations anyway.
Superchargers are meant to enable long distance travel, so it made zero sense to have any in SF or the east bay. They actually have a ton about to open on the Peninsula, East Bay, North and South Bay. There is already one in Fremont at the factory, one in Napa, one San Mateo with a 2nd planned in Fremont and San…
Okay, got my V60 P*...check. Don’t know what this winter thing is, so I’ll just take my PS4S’s and go find some twisty roads.
The issue is with your reading comprehension. Their backlog is due to module production, not cell production. This involves taking the cells and combining them into “modules” with coolant and wiring. Shipping over more cells from Japan would do nothing to speed up module production if cell shortage wasn’t the issue in…
You are thinking about 2170 cells.
