AA is 14X50, same height as the 18650 just 4mm narrower. The new cells are supposed to be much more energy dense than any 18650's on the market. The other new EV player in town, Lucid, which just won the contract to supply Formula E will be using 21700 cells as well.

No it is not. I worked there for 4 years. The Model S drivetrain is an evolution of the Roadster drivetrain. They both use 18650 cells that are run in both series and parallel. The cells are grouped into bricks, which are grouped into sheets. The Roadster has them arranged in 11 sheets across a box while the

18650 have been the cell of choice up until this point but they are being phased out for the slightly larger 21700 cells for Model III and beyond.

An M5 will get destroyed by any proper track toy. All the power in the world can’t make up for the weight in the turns.

What 5,ooo+lb car is good at the track?!? It is actually surprisingly good at the track for its weight. In certain conditions it may be your best bet at the track, Road and Track takes Model S to the track.

Yes with production tires. The summer tire option are Michelin Super Sports.

Tesla already did do a Sports car with this technology. It’s called the Roadster. The only difference here is the addition of a 2nd front motor. The Roadster 3.0 pack has enough juice to run dual motors, there is just no room for a front motor in that frame.

That has existed since the Tesla Roadster days. It was called Valet mode and cut power in half.

You forgot to mention the Aston One-77 that went for a cool $2.4MM new...

That is so far from true it’s not even funny. No design team at a reputable car maker gets to sign off on design without engineering being involved like happened at Fisker. Please show me a single well made vehicle that was built with Design taking the lead over Engineering. Companies that know what they are doing

I must’ve missed that “improvement”. These geniuses just keep getting “smarter”?

Fisker is the king of outsourcing. He apparently didn’t learn from his old mistakes. He again wants to fully design a vehicle and then have actual engineers figure out how to have very complicated systems fit within his existing designs. This led to many packaging issues on the Karma and eventually a bunch of

As you probably already know McLaren Cars and McLaren Racing are separate companies but just to play along, their Racing results are pretty spectacular “when you take a large enough sample size” as you say despite recent struggles.

Agreed! Miss my Legacy...

While you may not like the look, which is your prerogative, the market disagrees. Going on 5 years after launch they are still production constrained and the most sold sedan over $70k. Sales don’t lie.

This was just the final straw that broke the camel’s back. It was doomed to fail from the get go. If you have ever seen a Karma up close you know how poorly they were built. People who complained about fit and finish on early Model S need to take a close look at a Karma. They look like they were assembled by 2

Yeah man and like we all could just be sipping mai tai’s on the beach...oh sorry, was living in la la land with you for a second. Now back to reality. Economies of scale do not currently allow for sub-$50k EV sports sedans. Batteries are too heavy and too expensive. Do you really think companies would not have

News flash, he already did. Henrik did the original design for the Model S and it was such garbage that it was thrown out and restarted from scratch after Franz was hired. There was then a lawsuit, that was settled, saying he tried to take some of his work to use on the Karma.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! You take that back right now! If the pharaohs had Duct Tape, the Sphinx would still have its nose...

That is a safety measure required by many tracks to allow for access in case of accidents.
