Is it really bad that the first thing I noticed was the Smart reflection?

@Roberto G.: Those are SPEED HOLES. If the engine is air-cooled, then dammit so are you!

@Rock517: The whole point of asking is to find out if there's a reason. It is, after all, a 20-odd year old "new" car.

@Rock517: The general consensus seems to be that they tried, and failed, to sell the vehicle at a premium, and then hoarded it...

@MkV_GTI,would trade it for a LHD Altezza RS200: Apparently the regulations are binding as of the model year, and since it complies with regulations of 26 years ago, it can be sold. I asked below, took a while but got an answer.

@ieatbabies: I understand the urge for a 'proof of concept' (or in most cases for us men, proof of we have the cajones), but my gripe is when people either legitimately believe an artificial experience is a better option (disregarding circumstantial effects such as video calling rather than fronting a blizzard), or

@ktek01: That's actually great news, so regulations are basically year-specific in that newer regulations are only binding to vehicles manufactured after their effective integration. Here in Turkey, for example, you can't register a vehicle with a 'new' title if it is more than 7 years old and has no previous title.

A bit unrelated but...

@b33g33: The "quick buck" - "quick Buick" quip was more of a joke, but they did try to make a quick buck, and receded upon failure. I think it's honorable that they came to realize the true value of such a vehicle, but it still saddens me that if not for the auction shenanigans, someone might have picked it up for

@Rock517: "But an easy profit proved hard to resist. So when the dealership was given a GNX to sell, it put the car up for an auction in hopes of juicing the sales price."

NP. 1K for the majority of the work already done, and it seems to be in pretty good condition. The only other expenses are surf boards and bikini-clad women.

While I understand that the car can be sold, can it be registered and driven on public roads?

I drove this one around the proverbial block. Damn thing near killed me. At least I returned it to its owner without a scratch.

@alexthehuge: Nick moved on to greener pastures.

The "fastest car" I've driven is a Porsche GT Challenge Cup car, but that was just bumbling around the paddocks trying (and failing) not to stall it. The "fastest" car that I've driven fast would be an '04 Turbo at the same event. My foot glued the accelerator to the floor until the instructor told me I was running

@1dollar93: There's another video in the related videos (second page when you scroll right) and it's got a shot of the timeboard at the end of the runs. All 9s, and yes, the driver is late off the line in most of the runs.

Wheren't Nera also 4wd? Burnout? What?
