There were working versions of ICS for the Xoom within weeks of 4.0's release, including for the Verizon version. The only reason there is an official version out now is due to Google backing it but the unofficial versions have consistently been better since the start. The devs fix bugs in the kernel that Moto leaves

If you're still on the second book its a little early to be making that comparison. There's quite a death toll in Erikson's books, although the larger than life part is very much true as well.

Steven Erikson's Malazan series might be to your liking. Its a combination of the gritty and epic fantasy genres and has the benefit that the main ten book series is finished.

Style over substance. The changes in H-K's lineup for receivers shows them going for flashy appearance but cheaping out on features. They seem to be going for a Bose/B&O niche instead of trying to win sales by offering products that are actually good. Shame.

My five year old daughter loves her girly toys and when I showed her the new LEGO sets she of course wanted to get them too. She also wanted and got the Alien Invasion LEGO set for Christmas and loves playing space battles.

I gave my four year old a Nook Color running CM7 instead. Its a way better deal once you factor in the cost of the Leapfrog software and in terms of what they both offer it isn't even a contest.

VOTE: HTC Flyer

My music library has grown with me for over 20 years. It's very much a part of me, whether in physical form, located on a local drive or stored in the cloud. There's many many songs in my library love that I will never find on any subscription services. Instead I use Subsonic as my personal cloud and Last.fm as my

This is pretty much the only reason I use itunes. Since itunes doesn't keep my music library in the itunes folder its going to make the process of adding the downloaded files back more cumbersome than I'd like, but keeping that extra degree of separation is worth it to me. I'm still not really looking forward to the

You won't be able to subscribe until you remove songs from your library.

I believe the external Ceton CableCARDS tuners are out now or are available for preorder. For small space/heat considerations they are good option and I think they are designed for tuner sharing across multiple computers.

That and the Kindle app is world's better than the stock Android version of the Nook app. B&N doesn't even sell Nook Color books on the Android version of its app. Anyone with a rooted Nook gets an automatic downgrade in functionality. Its a weird position for B&N to take, they obviously could offer color books on

I went with the HTC Flyer for my folks instead. Its cheaper than the iPad ans has the camera and connectivity the Kindle lacks. The option to customize the interface and the ability to use widgets makes it a better choice than the iPad and Kindle as well.

Android tablets can display many pages just fine using a desktop User Agent and it was a common hack in order to get Hulu to work. Presumably that wouldn't show up as an Android tablet in statistics.

Close. The problem is with fructose, which is present to a slightly higher degree in HFCS than in regular sugar. Look for the Bitter Truth for the very detailed metabolic explanation on why fructose is metabolized in a much different way than glucose and gets converted almost entirely to fat and other by products

Agreed. Subsonic is a very good choice. The latest version allows for streaming, has arbitrary cache sizes, video playback (lifesaver when traveling with kids), and file transcoding.

Yes, caffeine is known to be addictive. Withdrawal can cause headaches/migraines. Excessive caffeine can do the same. For some people who suffer from migraines, such as myself, regular amounts of caffeine help in suppressing migraines. Neurochemistry is tricky.

Sounds like Subsonic, only not as good. Subsonic will set up a cache on your phone and temporarily store music there so you have some buffer space. The cache size is user controlled so it will delete files that don't get pinned to storage.

This is a tough one. You're off by about 6,000 years on the dinosaurs and humans and don't take the Rapture into account like his chart does. On the other hand you have a Y axis.

There is no argument to prove. He posted a chart authored by a "climatologist" who makes his predictions based on the Bible. The last data point is literally the Rapture.
