+1 on Microsoft office. Everyone in my line of work is expected to know how to use Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. If they do not know how to use formulas or type up a document or make a presentation, don’t bother applying. It is unusual stuff like Visio, MS server that people should mention if it is relevant to the job.

So Doug, what is the end game with the Land Rover? Take it to a bomb range and nuke it for kicks?

If Toyota trucks are good enough for radical insurgent groups, it is good enough for us.

The better way to list a job posting is to detail what responsibilities of the position and if there is a must-have specific skillset, list it or something close (example: MySQL, Oracle SQL, etc, we can google what we need if company uses a different version, but syntax is 95% the same). Posting a Christmas wishlist

I don’t think the Russians are stupid. They learned their lesson from Afghanistan in the 1980’s. That is why they are letting Assad and Iran send in infantry while they only provide logistics and air support.

ISIS is a real threat to the United States, Europe, and those hundreds of thousands of refugees running for their lives.

The problem is a US intervention in Syria means opening a 3rd front. Obama is stuck between a rock and a hard place. We are still fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan and winding down from Iraq while suicide bombers still run rampant along with ISIS. We lose either way, but the option with less damage is to not

I am switching over to Ryobi for this exact reason. Sears is being gutted by fucking Ed Lambert and I expect Sears will not last past 2020.

Ryobi has a really good LED worklight that works with their 18v battery. A good Maglight works well, too. I keep one in my car at all times.

The head slips off the fiberglass handle.

Just spend the $600-$1000 for the full set of whatever you need. At some point, you will use it.

Harbor freight tools are hit or miss. Check reviews before purchase. Their impact sockets, including adapters, and extensions are as good as what you find in Sears. The electric impact wrench as not failed me yet. The 6 point sockets, flat wrenches, breaker bars are great. I highly recommend the 3/8 ratcheting breaker

Here is a money saving tip: Under no circumstances should you buy sockets from Target. EVER! Buy from Harbor Freight. Buy from Sears, Home Depot, or Lowes. Hell, buy from Pep Boys. Have you ever heard of sockets breaking in half? Yes, if they are from Target and were manufactured with powdered metal and held together

My old Porsche ruined me for other cars. The seat was low and fit like a glove, the engine was strong enough to pulled in 2nd gear on a hill from start, and the car handled at speed at my every command without fail. It felt like I was flying an airplane instead of driving.

I have loyalty to the BMW 3 series because I have been wrenching on mine for so long, I am familiar with the basic mechanics and mostly able to figure out things without the aid of the Bentley manual. That being said, if they add any more useless electronics, I will bail for another brand and make.

The Harbor Freight corded electric impact wrench is $40 with their coupon. It is good for the price.

I use my ramps regularly. I would also recommend using wheel chocks on the wheels that are touching the ground. It may be paranoia, but it is $7 of insurance to prevent the car rolling in any direction.

$70 for a Ryobi at Home Depot when it is on sale. This is manufactured by the same supplier as the same one for Sears except using a different battery.
