Thats exactly why I bought one new. Any used low mile examples were salvage titled or ridden hard.
That’s like trying to find a hooker that promises she’s a virgin.
Congratulations, Mr. Phantom440, on COTD! I would like to gift you with a VW which this lovely, soapy lady will deliver after the rinse.
Or, as I ran into once, insisting someone is a great candidate because they don’t understand the job and its requirements.
I know, they’ve creeped their way further & further into the hiring process over the last few decades, across the corporate world. Which is why I addressed executives in my post.

This. Also, understanding what kind of skills/knowledge can be easily transferred.
Sometimes, when the position asks for that much bizarre stuff, it’s because they’re writing it for the guy they intend to hire.
Because this question comes up a lot, and it's more complicated than you may think
Insert the endless anecdotes about postings requiring 5yrs experience for a technology that is 3yrs old.
Executives & hiring managers: stop letting HR set up a screen between you and the act of acquiring new talent. Don’t let them filter down the resumes you see, don’t humor their sometimes counterproductive personality and assorted tests. They’re gumming up the workings of the labor market, and you’re complicit.
apply only if you hit at least 85% of what they’re looking for
Agree here. At my job, there are very few people that have the skills that we ask on the job req. posting by the company. I would say that all the hires we take on have 10% experience in what we do. Plus a lot of our stuff is specialized that the people doing the work would have come from a company doing the same…
Not a fan of the don’t apply if you don’t meet the requirements part. I’ve always been told apply anyway because the list is often a list of hopes and not requirements. Worse thing that can happen is that they don’t interview you.
^ I would be heavily tempted to add “unless you’re a software developer” to this, but I’m wondering what others think.
I’m the LEAST concerned about the US and Russian Air Forces going at it, actually. They’re professionals on both sides and though there’s a possibility of an accidental entanglement, I’m much more concerned about the regional players...as noted in the article, Iranian forces, Shia forces, whomever the hell else…
I second this. Why? Let me tell you a story.
This. It took me several years to realise that a $4 pair of Stanley safety glasses will keep rust out of my eyes.
No, but a garage or even a driveway would help. Good ol’ SF living.
