It's not defensive, because I honestly don't see what the issue is here. You said you doubted Samsung came even close with sales of the S2 and S3, and, as that number points out, the S3 sold nearly half of what the iPhone did alone...so it's pretty easy to imagine the S2 and S3 did come pretty close if not surpassing

Nice that your definition of dumbass involves a strong blame-the-victim mentality.

This has me scratching my head a bit. A smartphone is a pretty objective measure - it isn't something subjective like "the top 20% of the devices out there," it's a phone that runs any of the modern smartphone OS's, which makes it hard for me to imagine any basis for "minimum requirements" for classification.

If you're lumping the 3GS in that closely to the 4 and 4S, I'm not sure why you wouldn't do the same for the Galaxy S line when the same logic holds. And sure, Samsung goes further downmarket than Apple does but it's still sort of beyond me why that (and having more models) makes this an unfair comparison. It isn't

The Galaxy S3 just passed the 10 million mark a few days ago. I'm not sure why you're trying to justify the iPhone potentially selling less either. Seriously, what's the problem with Apple being beat?

Apple doesn't sell one phone last time I checked. It's a fair comparison.

True, which is probably why the major makers have largely been thrusting these mirrorless systems downmarket so far (NEX 7 excepted). I can't be too annoyed at the choice either since I both don't need a new camera, and they aren't targeting the serious SLR crowd anyways. But you're right, it's hard to see much of a

I'm glad I'm not the only one out there thinking this. Sure, a sensor is going to be a bit thicker than a piece of film...but I can't remember the last time I picked up a film SLR and thought it's too large. I can't believe that a little careful engineering can't produce something just a little bigger than that in

I understand that the flange distance requires a certain amount of depth in the body (though 44mm is ~1.7 inches, so with some ingenuity it shouldn't have to be too much thicker at its worst). Mostly though my point was just that next to a modern DSLR, since most film SLR's are much closer in dimension to mirrorless

Personally I don't buy the argument that it's physically impossible based solely on the fact that film SLR's managed to all be around an inch thick while maintaining the same flange distance. I realize a film sensor is going to be thicker than a piece of film, but it's hard to see how that absolutely justifies a

And instead use....? Lightroom can be fantastically efficient depending on your workflow.

Can't tell if trolling or honestly thinks a group of movies that range between 24-74% on Rotten Tomatoes are all "good to great." Though that said, I can't believe there's someone out there who didn't pull their hair out in dumbfounded rage at the end of The Village.

The irony of commenting and asking where this thing is that makes the comments usable isn't lost on me...but what is this thing that may or may not work?

I don't understand it either both because of that, and because the time period of peace between Geth and Quarian is still all of nearly nothing by the end of the game. Yes, they found peace, but maybe it won't last. Which is why it bugs me that everyone just assumes solving this conflict in the game means the Catalyst

As others have pointed out...that's a really stupid point. You can't know how you feel about the new endings without seeing them.

I'm largely on the same page. Honestly I really liked the original endings because they forced me to make what was truly a hard choice. Indoctrination theory to me seems like a cop out, because it's based in being unsatisfied with the choices given to you at the end. Well in my mind that's part of the point: there are

That's what bugs me so much...Giz had a totally different (and IMO, better) commenting system that was as often as not more interesting than the posts themselves. For raw news sure you could go elsewhere and regularly be better served (it's hard to beat The Verge on straight, normal, content), but for

It's a nightmare to get around, but just like over at Gawker...if you voice dissent or complaint, you're evidently a bag of dicks.

When Gawker went to essentially the same format I went from a multiple-times-a-day-reader and commenter to checking it once a day at most. I hear what you guys are trying to do, but if I wanted a more level (less stratified) playing field in the comments I could go to literally any other site. What made the Gawker

Hardly. Check the Android softkeys at the bottom of each frame.
