yeap just rewatched the scene more carefully and am realizing I am dumb, that was young Anthony Hopkins and I just didn't recognize him, like a dodo. So the hunt for Arnold continues!

Er so I totally believed Arnold was in the flashbacks — did I just misread terribly? Who was the man that had that smiling moment with the android (CGI young Anthony Hopkins?!?)?
i assume i'm not the only one tearing up a bit right now
Unsure if it's already been addressed here (600+ comments!) but Vulture (with some assistance from Reddit, as usual) posted what seems to me to be a pretty solid theory of what's going on with Elliot right now: http://www.vulture.com/2016…
I definitely agree this was an uneven episode – in some ways, the last minute makes it seem like the writers were like "well, we need to get to THIS PLACE, so let's make things happen to arrive AT THIS POINT IN THE PLOT" and therefore maybe threw away some of the nuance in getting there.
Did I miss a casting announcement or did they just guard this very well? In any case, bravo.
I agree the dynamic is very, very different… this is probably a worthy explanation but idk. Some actual aloud acknowledgement of this being the reason would've been nice.
Disappointed Billionaire Banshee isn't on here! It's a great party game for people you know well and also people you've just met.
In spite of all the positive progress made towards female representation over the past few decades, how many thoughtpieces and diatribes do you think it will take before TV writers stop using female death and/or rape/torture as motivation for male characters?
I think it's been established Paul isn't the sharpest tool in the shed… but yeah, that was pretty godawful.
Cue convoluted theory: Chessani money is dirty i.e. funded from the blue diamonds, to assuage his guilt (when he used to have a moral compass?) he adopted the heist kids. I suppose we do have to consider Chessani was also at the Panticapaeum Institute when he was a youngun so that has to come into play at some point.
I DEFINITELY ALSO WONDERED IF THE JEWELRY HEIST KIDS WERE THE CHESSANI KIDS
I did briefly think of Paul as the thin white cop – I'm not saying I'm against the idea, but I don't see the motivation? It would be the opposite of what S1 was trying to do (making us suspect Rust for awhile before we were concretely sure he obviously had nothing to do with it).
I have to admit I had less faith on the Evan plotline, but of course Liv namechecking him earlier was foreshadowing. CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FINALE.
I feel like these cases are becoming convoluted for the sake of being convoluted; ever since Kitty left any serial element has been dropped (even Joan's brush with death was brushed off in a few episodes). I suppose they potentially wanted to setup a Moriarty return but Natalie Dormer has too many franchise…
I think the Maggy prophecy is always interpreted by Cersei as being about Margaery – I think she's too singleminded in her paranoia over losing control of her children/dynasty to think of Dany as a legitimate threat, or Sansa for that matter. I know the fandom likes to envision it as some super queen trio ending it…
I can't be the only one who cracked up on the gecko line, best part of this recap, honestly.
I think Kayla and Myles (from Elementary recaps) should have a Clyde vs Geillis Watch off.
"Oh, you adorable, sweet little naive boy." I think you meant you beautiful, naive, sophisticated newborn baby.
re: brands picking shows - As an advertising student I can tell you that yes, brands do have access to audience demographic/psychographic information like - as bizarrely specific as it may be - high-potential allergy sufferers.
