I was actually following this on the Steam forum for Automata last night (and part of this morning; there are a couple of people who got into it with Kaldaien that are still crowing about his ban/soothing their individually savaged egos--Kaldaien can field a pretty scorching argument when the mood strikes), and was

I want to believe Capcom and Nintendo had the same old CD from some 90s world music store lying around and thought “eh sounds about right”.

This isn’t censorship, this is one guy trying to defend a bad joke that has no basis in the original text. It even says outright that the original name is a pun on light switches. What in the hell do light switches have to do with a radicalized Christian terrorist group?

Just as crunchyroll and funimation play nice and come together, amazon had to just swoop in with anime strike to divide the anime streaming exclusivity again. I hate this shit.

Stick and stones may break my bones, but words have a 15% chance of a critical hit.

I’ll say this in defense of ScarJo: It’s clear that she studied the anime. Her body language and facial movements and vocal inflections were, in my opinion, totally faithful to the anime. But, because of the trash script that switched up Major’s personality, it comes off like she sucks. She was thrown some high-school

Let’s face it this movie was going to be underwhelming from the start. Even with the whitewashing and the movie’s Sisyphean effort to try and handwave it away with “She’s Japanese but she’s in a white person’s body.” that still comes off as offensive, it’s a generic revenge story that plays like GitS’ greatest hits

To those who are going to bitch about fans doing LGBT ships of Sombra: why the fuck do you care? How certain fans appreciate a character does not effect how you appreciate the same character. For example, I myself like Captain America. But while I don’t ship Steve and Bucky together I can respect those that do and at

Serious question: why does Kotaku put the captions below the gif that’s being referred to? With the colon, it looks like it’s actually commenting on the following gif. Is it some standardized style for blogs (a la MLA) or something? I’m genuinely curious.

I am fed up with things taking so damn long. Everything takes too long! Hurry it up for chrissakes.

As long as there are dreamers who have the courage to pursue their dreams, the world will have heroes. And as long as there is a thirst to discover the unknown, there will be new stories to tell...and new adventures to be had.

Yeah, but when is Skies of Arcadia 2 coming?!

From what I can gather, I think the lighthearted tone is an issue and that Realzi is construing it as an attack on the developers—which couldn’t be further from the truth, given the fact that when Grayson worked at Rock, Paper, Shotgun three years ago [!] he said the fact that Owlboy wasn’t released yet was bad news

And this is why I downloaded it asap. And Luke (and others) were saying it wouldn’t get taken down (haha, it won’t since torrents exist). It may have been the creators who took it down, sure. But no one is entitled to their art. They’ve also gotten the satisfaction of 1.5 million downloads. That is pretty remarkable.
