Be prepared for what becoming a foster parent could do to your children. My mom did the fostering thing (which I'm grateful for, because that's how she adopted me) and some of the kids she had before me were... troubled. As in smearing poop on the walls troubled. And they weren't infants either.

Something that helps me when I think about this is that I would rather not have children and regret it than have children and regret it.
