I'm hoping a DirectCUII version comes out soon. I can't stand AMD's reference blower design. It sounds like I have a Hoover in my PC. When I bought my GF a computer, I gave her my reference card and but an xfx Double D in mine. Her case is an Antec P182, I swear you could lock a herd of cats in that thing and not

I'm looking at a 290 this year, hopefully get one on a boxing day sale.

If I recall correctly it's been reported that the PS4 is capable of OpenGL and DirectX 11.1. I think the PS4 system uses a FreeBSD based OS, but I'm not sure. There's always work to move a game cross-platform, but you can make it easier by using open standards.

The end of the day, Linux adoption won't increase

From what I understand, OpenGL has a higher limit on "Draw Calls", or, how many object are drawn to the screen, and match D3D in most anything else. There are examples of Tesselation out there from around 2-3 years before D3D implemented it.

There are people out there that I like to think won't compromise PC games to fit on consoles. I've been considering whether or not to get AC4 on a PS3, since I have all the others on there, on PS4 when I get one, or my current PC, which has a 1090T and 2GB 6950. I think the 6950 will run it OK, but they don't have a

I think the hard part lies in convincing people to use OpenGL instead of DirectX. It's tough to break habits.

I'm with you there, I've been MMO-ing since UO, and I can't get behind FFXIV. It's a very pretty, very outdated game. The new thing it brings to the table is the job system, which is cool, but then it's pretty much terrible everywhere else in the gameplay. I beta'd it, and decided to cancel my pre-order and see how

The PS4, XBone, and WiiU are all "Next gen". As far as I'm concerned, once XBone launches, then they are the current gen.

A side point, why does it matter what people call it? Is it awkward for you as a games blogger to have this ambiguous period in between generations?

Reuters reports that Batman bin Suparman was incarcerated on Monday. He is sentenced to two years and nine months in prison for several offences, including stealing his brother's ATM card and making withdrawals totaling S$850, breaking into an office to steal money, and taking heroin.

Everybody called me crazy, but I always said the Novint Falcon would revolutionize gaming if we gave it enough time.

I don't think anyone ever has used this as an actual review platform. They likely got a unit today to take home with them to actually review. This lets them ask questions and clarify things not under NDA right now like information on the PS4's caching/game installation policy.

Everybody does these things. Video card developers, console developers, cpu developers. Anybody who wants people to look at their product hold review events where they wine, dine, meet and greet bloggers and journalists.

I don't think the console version support 64 player at all.

This is really hard to do for some people. I always start at furniture I don't like, describe the furniture I like, and when they bring me to it, act like it's "maybe just not for me".

It's swapping to gain ridonkulous speed. I don't think it's worth it, since games take up ~30GB each. That Hybrid drive is the way to go in my opinion.

That GTX is going to burn up!

I'm a huge fan of the series, but I could never get into 3 and I've never played Peace Walker.

The first one is worth suffering through the terribad PS1 graphics.

Not everyone knows everything. You brought the 2010 game into the conversation. Developers need to install games to harddrives, this is a fact. Sorry I can't explain it to you better.

That's pretty impressive.
As far as I know, the PS3 used a proprietary file system. I'm not sure what they call it. PS4 will probably use a proprietary system as well.

The whole of the game data was only 36GB as well, this is a 49GB install, I'm sure there's some left on the disc. Also, it was a good looking game, but the textures were simply not to the standards that current FPS games have.
