Did anybody else catch that the Audi’s right turn signal was on, indicating a desired lane change? Audi driver was probably checking their blind spot (for a fairly long time) and didn’t catch the stop lights or large red and white colored boom w/flashing lights on it. Not excusable, but might explain it slightly.

The same way one got a job as POTUS?

That chart was really interesting to me, particularly the pricing axis. I see those cars (minus the Bolt / Tesla) 2 - 3 years old all the time on the used/CPO market for $7k (leaf) - $20k (optioned, REX i3).

...Oregon? or Maine? Is that where hipsters are from, now? I’m so out of touch. Back when I paid attention, hipsters were in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Saabs weren’t obscure enough for them yet.

Oh man thats a nice looking Tacoma. I’m particularly a fan of the tire choice. $16k is $16k though, I know the feeling. Those things have pretty ridiculous resale.

I’ve always wanted that 4dr Tacoma 4x4 in the body style they stopped making after the ‘04 model year. 3.4l 5vz-fe V6, 5-spd, rear locker, enough room for 2 car seats & a reasonable bed in the back. Basically the Tacoma version of the 3rd gen 4Runner.

So far so good. Been about 2 years. Just made Sergeant E5.

I’ve owned a few 4Runners, these (two) are my first autos and yes I definitely miss the 5-spd!

Wait, Saabs are for hipsters now? They used to be for quirky college professors and yuppies. Which was great because yuppies & professors took really good care of them (for the 2nd hand market), and they’re actually a bunch of fun.

Yeah even with stock lift and highway-focused Dueler tires, I had no problem whatsoever with either of them (black or beige...er... ‘desert dune metallic’). I did most everything in 4x2, only used the locker once.

Mine is a ‘98. 352,000 miles & counting but with a bunch o’stuff from the wrecked ‘98 that had 187,000 miles on it. Both 4x4, both limited, e-locker in the back, entire interior swapped. Non-wrecked one has it’s original driveline but as soon as it goes I have the refreshed engine/trans/t-case from the 187k truck

Dude every time someone tells me I’m over-valuing the shit heap I daily drive, I point them to some “gems” from the Beverly Hills Car Club (conveniently located NOWHERE NEAR Beverly Hills, in scenic East LA).

He got a DUI and that negatively impacted his career enough that I almost felt bad for him.

You win. My brother in law actually made something of himself after destroying our car, getting it impounded, accruing ~$1500 in impound fees, and requiring me to leave my wife & newborn son to drive 48 hours round trip non stop in a borrowed truck to recover the 4Runner and spend 2 hours with a come-a-long in the

Anecdote time: I had a 4Runner that my wife & I loved. It got us out of more than one jam personally (financially) and on/off road. We have some incredible memories in it and because of it.

He means to say stuff like toyota-4runner.org and nasioc (etc). Though... I’m probably going to go buy that domain right now haha.

Pffffft, editing... this is Gawker. Perhaps if there was an editor they’d have caught the f’d up tense agreements and plural use of women vs. singular woman (among others).

Oh man I’ve been in conversations like that where you really want to just grab the guy by the scruff of the neck and yell “COUNT THE SPARK PLUGS... COUNT THEM! THERE ARE 6!”

I lost this game just after Halloween. Friggin’ midwest corporate radio.

Does it actually have more than one pedal, or has Nissan found yet another way to force the car buying public to ignore this thing?
