Fair observation. The 1st gen 4Runner had a small lip that stuck out you could rest the top on to help align/seal it. I think if this had that lip like its ancestor did, it’d look more finished, and probably be more weather-resistant as well.

Ah I missed this one. I was a car nut as a kid, but when I was growing up, the rust belt wasn’t exactly awash with supercars. Closest I came was a brand new IROC-Z when I was about 5 or 6. I’d been in a Porsche 911, but the sensation of speed just wasn’t there like it was in the Camaro. The noise, the smells, the

Yes.

I’m with you on your last point. The others? Not really.

I’ve admittedly been out of the Honda “game” for a while now (a decade or two)... but a 6600 rpm redline in a Civic Si caught me off guard. Its great they don’t need to be revved to the moon & back to make usable power, but that to me was part of the fun of the earlier B-series powered cars.

Hey Logan, the anecdotes and commentary beneath each slide in this show are the best I’ve read in a while on this site. While I despise the slideshow format, your responses/commentary were great. Nice work.

On that same vein, when is the last time you saw an XR4Ti or a T-Bird Turbocoupe?

More recently it was a stock Hyundai Elantra “N” https://www.motortrend.com/news/2022-hyundai-elantra-n-loud-exhaust-police-california/

I see a lot of comments dogging on Corvettes (& their owners) here.

The other day at my local filling station, diesel was at $3.09 and unleaded was $3.12. First time in 20 years I’ve seen this happen. All of the stations in my local area are now “backwards” as of this morning (diesel cheaper than unleaded).

Not just any maps. Motor Vehicle Use Maps. Nobody wants to be the reason a trail becomes permanently off limits because they were riding on it when it was marked closed on the MVUM but appeared open in person.

This is rad, but from the title I thought it had to do with taking a Harley Road Glide on the Rubicon or something.

Sure their rockets go up more reliably than a SpaceX Falcon but uh... what goes up, must come down and they haven’t quite figured that part out yet. Or they just don’t care.

I’m in the middle of nowhere Arkansas and I’ve seen at least 4 in the wild here, in a town with a population under 50k people with one, single supercharging location (8 stalls) within 60 miles.

Ford Transit Supervan? Everything from GT40 V8s to F1 V8s (and electric motors, too) stuffed into these.

The apartment I was staying in overlooked the roof of the business where this happened (El Rancho Market, Echo Park, Los Angeles) from across Elsinore. So I just kinda stood there in the living room drinking coffee with 2 of the folks who lived there, waiting for the cops to arrive, trying to figure out what the guy

I’ve seen shirtless, barefoot tweakers scale razor wire fences and broken glass covered ledges to steal copper from a rooftop in broad daylight.

This “Land Cruiser” is on the same TNGA-F platform as the Prado/GX/4Runner/Tundra/Sequoia/Tacoma/300 series/LX 600.

The “Big Daddy” LC died with the 200 series. Now the LC is just another Prado.

Same could be said of Tommy Boy, which was a fun film with a similar plot starring a SNL cast member. I’ll probably watch this, too.
