I might be the only guy in history to legitimately run out of gas while “parking” with a date back in high school. Does that count?

Hey, I’d take a 996 over my current race car (a broken Power Wheels Barbie Jeep modded to 48v).

Kristen + Stef doing a 1 lap of America, Hot Rod Power Tour, Ultimate Adventure Challenge or season of LeMons (plus the associated builds/repairs)... that I’d watch.

I regret that I only have but one star to give to this comment. Do you work at the Ft. Benning Armor museum or something? Because that’s some curator-level-stuff right there.

Way cool, thanks for the learnin’!

Thats awesome. I bet he had some pretty crazy stories to tell for sure! When you say Ram-based... like, a truck? Or a bulldozer?
The vehicle being lifted is the M109, an early one. Mobile (tracked) artillery piece, 155mm IIRC. They still use them, I think they’re up to M109A5 or M109A7 these days. They still use the

Fair enough. But I envy the simplicity of these guys’ lives. Much like they probably envy those of us lucky enough to have electricity, running water, plumbing and a bed larger than the driver’s seat of a shitty 80's economy car.

M109 is the vehicle being lifted in the pic, or some variation thereof. 30 Tons is roughly what they weigh. But for the record the M88 isn’t designed to drive around like that, it’s designed to tow, much like a tow truck. In that capacity, the M88A2 can effectively and (somewhat) reliably tow an 88 ton M1A2 Abrams

Challenge accepted.

I bet that person has some stories to tell! I, too, would like to meet someone who would offroad a 1-of-300-ish $400,000 vehicle made by a car company not known for their reliability.

I used to have a blog [under a different nom de plume] called “Street parked in Santa Monica” where I cataloged the ridiculous cars I would see during my 2.8 mile daily commute from my West LA apartment to my Santa Monica office. E-type Jaguars, a legit D-type Jaguar being used for a photoshoot, Lamborghinis,

Yep, I think that’s the “official” neighborhood designation.

The 911 RSA or the LM002? The 911 RSA I was told by the owner is real (the 964s really were that small) but didn’t independently verify beyond a visual inspection. The LM002's VIN checks out against the Dupont & Lamborghini registries as legit.

Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, parked on Gretna Green at the intersection of Dorothy. Hasn’t been there in a while but it used to be a regular occurrence.

This one was in Santa Monica, CA just north of Olympic Blvd IIRC (this was a few years ago).

I read a stat that even though their MSRP was $10k less than a C2 when they came out, they now sell for $10-20k more than a comparable Carrera. Sadly, this one isn’t mine, but I used to walk past it every morning on the way to work.

This picture was taken circa 2014-2015 and I think he just got it (I used to jog down this street to get to the Brentwood CC trail). I lived (at the time) just off Wilshire. Lots of really cool, understated rides in this area. That LM 002 was somewhere in this area, too.

This guy owns a Porsche specialty shop, and I want to say its a legit RS America.

Also street parked just up the road from the LM002.
