I think the later 3rd gen 4Runners also had this (multi-mode).
These come in 2 varieties: 1 with park gear and 1 with reverse gear at the top of the “RNDL” and no park (you have to start in neutral) The newer ones, which this appears to be, would have had park (with no interlock) and should also have had a parking brake.

Ugh I love kinja. 9 times out of 10 they’re already speeding.
Whenever you pass a cop they assume you’re speeding. Because 9 times out of 10 I was on the inside lane around a right-hand corner, my cruise control set to 1 mph under the limit, I passed (slowly) a cop on the outside lane and I was pulled over.
