You can get a decent 997 Carrera for $30k as well. But then, that would be the prudent decision. The stupid decision is to get an old car that isn’t as reliable its newer version, with the bonus of it also wanting to kill you if you lift mid-corner.

I used to live 2 miles from the office when I lived in LA. I often fantasized about a WWII MB / GPW Jeep for the days I didn’t feel like walking/riding to/from work (I settled on a ‘72 240Z, FYI).

I will say that my Harley dealer (laugh all you want, I loved my VRSCD) was very appreciative of the comments I left, as was my Subaru dealer. But my Mazda, Audi and Toyota dealers

I’d say get the sum-total of all of your mods, then subtract that number from the price of a similar quality, unmodified car.

I’ve R&R’d a few RX-8 engines w/transmissions still hanging off the back. The angle is difficult and you need to watch the hard lines on the firewall, but its do-able.
