Tell me about it. 2 mountain bikes in the back of my (former) Legacy wagon and nobody is riding in the back seat.

There’s a word for it, “irrational.” Get out and drive while you still can. If you get a ding, fix it. If it gets turd on it, wash it.
I know tons of people who have had great luck with Subarus, that’s why I bought a pair the second the 05+ body style (in the US) came out... I thought they were the most beautiful wagons I’d ever seen (full disclosure, I’ve owned 6 Volvo 700/900/90 series wagons).
I wrote a dissertation on the topic in a reply to a reply in the other thread. Lots of recurring repair issues with the two I owned (every 50-60k miles I’d have to do valve cover gaskets, rear wheel bearings, LCA bushings, factory intercoolers, etc, and it just got old) but the TL;DR is that they became financially…
We drove a LOT of highway miles (20k/yr/car), I’ve heard these don’t like the highway as much as they like the back roads... or something.
... the red car was stock in every way, including the wheels (that picture was a test fit to see if I liked it... I didn’t). And on the silver car, I didn’t install the STI pinks (OEM, BTW) until 100k miles, well after the first round of rear wheel bearings went on. I forgot to mention it was the rears that I…
Head gasket failures on both, piston ring (ring lands) failures on the silver car, valve cover gaskets that are basically a 50k mile repair item, “tumble generator valves” that would fail every 30-50k on the red car, fuel leaks under the intake manifold on the silver car, intercoolers splitting apart under stock boost…
I agree! I’m still in love with the way they looked. That generation Legacy is still my favorite of all time in the looks department. But, like a beautiful person with a terrible personality, I had to cut them (both) loose.
Haha I do believe I called this one. I just can’t remember if it was here or on another site.
2 words: Military ID.
I rented a Ford V10 u-haul, filled it with the contents of a 3000 sq ft house, put a 2100lb 2 axle u-haul car trailer behind it with a 3500lb car on it... and then drove it most of the length of I-40 (heading west) and got better mileage than this Raptor. I spent much of the time from New Mexico to the California…
I had no idea how true this was until I spent 3 months in the woods. Getting back to society after 93 days in the field for the first time was like walking into a Bath and Body works and doing lines of scented lotion. I had headaches for weeks. First time I showered I could smell the soap for hours afterwards. It…
Looks like the Rav-4 based product of a Kia Soul / Honda Element one night stand. Hard pass.
Doesn’t Land Rover already make the least-reliable off-road beasts... in the world?
The trick is to do it Thurs thru Saturday night - that little block in the middle of Purdue’s campus is technically West Lafayette PD’s problem, Purdue PD doesn’t touch it. And usually WLPD has bigger fish to fry thurs thru sat night than a couple of engineering students pulling the front half of a Fleetwood Brougham…
Haha our 2016 4Runner barely sees the light of day as well. Toyota really got it right with these, in my incredibly biased opinion.
Yeah A340F I think in the 4x4s.
