Understood. They got so much else right, but I’m kind of broken mentally in that I’ll let stupid nit picks like that ruin things for me.

I was looking at them 4-5 years ago and found a bunch of good runners with strong histories for under $30k. Now, even the 2.7 911s in solid shape are north of $30k.
Your wife is much more tolerant than mine. My wife will sense my discomfort and impending rant and, before I open my mouth, she’ll increase the volume.
Mercedes 300TD.
Running and reliable for $30k? So, a 914 then?
Perhaps? But the explosions of bullets impacting vehicles in the scene prior to this would seem to indicate otherwise. Unless it is a plot point.
If you look closely at the scene with the minigun on top of the Suburban in traffic, same thing, but those are 7.62 M82 blanks. I get it, they’re not going to fire live ammo. But they could have paid a bit more attention to detail.
Perhaps this is why nobody watches movies with any kind of military/automotive content…
@2:05 in the video, the CG folks got it wrong... the brass (expended cartridges / spent shell casings) falling to the ice with crimped necks where the bullet would typically go means they’re blanks. Nice try though.
Sort of like this, then?
I think with an aftermarket front bumper, some heavier duty skids and perhaps a small spacer lift to even out the stance, you could have a pretty legit little medium-core off-roader, lack of low range and diff-locks notwithstanding.
I learned to drive as a kid in a ‘78 GMC with a 3 on the tree and various old Ford farm trucks and John Deere tractors, but the oldest car I’ve ever driven was a ‘30 Model-A my neighbor used to own.
haha I was waiting for one of those “why not both?” memes. This fits the bill nicely, though.
Yikes. I worked between Mesquite and Seagoville and lived in Desoto. I moved there from Los Angeles, so the lack of traffic and relatively stellar civil engineering/city planning in that area impressed me. Drivers notsomuch, but hey, they’re better there than where I am currently. Sucks to hear it went so far down…
I left Dallas in 2010, the freeways were amazing. Have they really gotten that bad since then?
Its all about the approach, departure and breakover angles. 8.66" is a good amount of clearance though, but that approach angle looks like it’ll be a limiter.
Thats either from Trump Tower or one of Saddam’s former palaces.
Your clapped out Volvo wagon, despite it having a turbo, is *not a race car. Please stop doing everything you’re doing to that end, so as to not make it so difficult on your 35 year old self as he attempts to restore said aforementioned Volvo wagon.
You might want to tell the staff at the US Army Jumpmaster school, then. For a C-17, my study guide from ~2008 shows a 130 KIAS (knots indicated airspeed) / 149 MPH (+/- 3 kts) as optimal drop airspeed. Depending on the headwind, your *ground speed at drop will be slower than 150 mph, though.
Bruh, Kuwait can be brutal lemmie tell you. I still have nightmares from when the Green Bean ran out of mocha on Camp Virginia.
-35f, 150mph (when they jump). That roughs out to a -100f wind chill when they first jump.
