The Perfect Dark thing was obviously a joke, one that's designed to make people do a double take when they hear it. He obviously doesn't think it came out in the 80s, and it would be impossible to think that.

Sure, and I do understand that, but I didn't start this thread. This thread compares the propaganda contained in a commercial western military game with the propaganda contained in a F2P game from the Chinese military, regardless of their different origins.

I don't know, Final Fantasy has never appealed to me. But sure, there are enough dead games with limp Armageddon themes already, and any future writers ought to know that they're bad at their jobs if they write another one!

It also means they can never fix the game's problems, because the next two sequels are already significantly into their development when this year's game hits the shelves.

I wish people would learn never to write a story that involves the end of the world. The only way for that story to really affect you is if the world really does end, but only a rare game could pull that off otherwise you'd get bored of that too.

This might not be a popular idea, but I'm a little annoyed that a series with so much potential has to die for the sake of the terrible story.

I think you see it as a difference because our games pay lip service to negative criticism as part of their form, whereas the Chinese game here is just more obvious propaganda.

I don't think it does. What about Jonas Savimbi, for example? To a lot of people there's no question that Savimbi was morally wrong, but the game places him as an ally - probably because the US funded him.

I think you would notice the difference on a decent-sized desktop monitor. Retina is about packing massive detail into a small space: a laptop screen, a tablet, a phone. 4K is the one for large-scale TV/movie entertainment and desktop gaming.

It seems like the manufacturers of 4K are on the "take" side of "give and take", and have agreed that 3840x2160 is the 4K standard now. (Not that you'd ever notice the difference between 3840 width and 4096 width, obviously!)

I have no idea if it's real or not. If it's Photoshop, they did a good job if matching pixel size to purl size.

At the time Contra came out though, there was no way you could see that character as anyone but Stallone as Rambo. Millions of schoolkids the world over who tied their schooltie or robe cord around their foreheads did so strictly in honour of that saggy-faced bacon/bubble-wrap lovechild.

I can never think of Contra without thinking of this sweater

Important:

It's probably best for us all if he doesn't. I really don't think anything can be gained from having Pat Robinson's worst fears confirmed. Imagine having him sitting next to you while you played a respected high-quality title like, ohhhh I don't know, Bioshock Infinite. The reality of games is actually worse (from his

Oops, code blown. Industry social events are going to be hard for you from now on.

Nah. The worst thing around this hoo-haa was when people leaked her personal info and threatened her with rape and murder. The second worst thing is that it's the 21st century and the industry still hasn't come close to fixing its problems. Way down the list is the risk to your image, and as other people have said

Good to know the courts are maintaining a healthy suspicion of your so-called "third dimension". Excessive, imo.

The TMZ team are deliberately dodging the obvious objection to go for the secondary one. "I know you want it" would be neither here nor there if the men weren't also singing about "blurred lines", which drives it 50 miles into Fucking No. These people are disingenuously ignoring the title of the song, which shows you
