No joke, my parents’ pastor claims this happened to him at a midwestern state school. He told the story during a sermon that I begrudgingly attended with them. (Even at 30, sometimes it is easier for me to just give in to their wishes.) I was thinking “This guy is FULL of bullshit” but everyone else around me bought

Yep, but my (proudly progressive) MIL won’t vote for her because she doesn’t “trust” her. Just the way she didn’t “trust” Hillary and went third party instead.

Margaret Anderson Kelliher is legitimately a great person! I had her as an adjunct professor and her course was great. But I don’t know if she has any interest in getting back into politics?

The appointment of Smith really worries me. If something were to happen to Dayton, we would get a republican governor.I feel like Smith should stick around until the end of her term.

I think it is to show that abusers stick together. He defends a dude accused of misconduct, is immediately also accused of misconduct. (Which I completely believe because he is a known asshole around these parts.)

Yeah, as a lifelong Minnesotan I have NEVER understood what people saw in this man or his show. APHC is just terrible- unfunny to say the least. Rumors have always been floating around that he was a complete asshole and these allegations are not surprising. And then all his articles around election time were so racist

I recently saw a confederate flag while driving through rural upstate NY, super close to the Vermont border. I was confused, as a northern New Yorker is basically the most Yankee you can get. You can’t even claim “southern pride”; you’re just a racist.

Exactly. That guy was seriously unhinged, but he has every right to hold those fucked up and incorrect beliefs.

When I was recently in Maine drinking a can of Pamplemousse someone asked me if I had seen this video. I was like “Bitch I am from the Minnesota. OF COURSE I have seen the video.”

This is something that has always bothered me when I am out west! (Or when watching Fixer Upper, where they say the names of streets so strangely.)

So I recently traveled to French Canada (the best Canada) and learned that La Croix means “that cross” and then I got confused because I was like “there is not a Saint Cross....” until I realize that the translation of the name of the river is probably “Holy Cross” or some such.

I am not an expert, but I would hazard a guess that yes, there is a drug problem.

It is in a place called Slab City near the Salton Sea in Southern California. Although when I was there the colors were not so bright and no one was allowed to walk on/in/near it.

I just re-read it as well. It is so terrifyingly probable.

OMG. I would LOVE to see Homegoing made into a film.

I could so easily see my company being one of the first to implement this and all my coworkers being completely on board. “It is so interesting to see your genetic makeup!” and all the fucking marathon runners and triathletes being convinced it will help them “train smarter” or something.

LOL. I have had to have conversations with my boyfriend like this many times. Like during awards shows when a new young person comes out and he asks who is that? “Oh, she was in a movie once and she is friends with T.Swift.”

My dad had a great job with the state so we always ate well and were able to do fun things like take trips to Europe.

I have had this argument multiple times with two of my friends who think it is necessary to send your children to private school so that one day they can attend an Ivy League school and then eventually get a high-paying job. They think it is necessary to make several hundred thousand a year before you can even think

I went to Christian elementary school and am so glad that I was able to transfer to public for middle and high school. I think grammar and math were the only things I actually learned well at the Christian school. It wasn’t until I got to public that I had quality literature and science classes.
