I went to a private religious elementary school, but my parents recognized that the high school connected to it was lacking. They didn’t have computers and there was no way I would learn actual science there. In 5th grade they transferred me to public and I could not be more thankful.

I listened to a two-hour interview with Rodgers in which he proclaimed his love of veggie burgers and his belief in UFOs. It was pretty amazing.

There is a really amazing 80's coverband called Hairball that plays throughout Southern Minnesota. Three lead singers constantly doing costume changes who do amazing impressions of the original leads. They do songs ranging from Freddie Mercury, to Sting, to KISS... 

Exactly! Plus pleather/plastic is made out of petroleum, which is not so great for the environment either....

I really did want to go over Thanksgiving but recognized that was the last possible date for me (a hearty Minnesotan but inexperienced camper) to do so. If you are not a highly experienced winter camper, like a wild camper who can survive in the Boundary Waters, you should NOT go to Standing Rock in the winter. Donate…

Right. Didn’t I say it makes sense that there is tension upon further thought? It is just not something I have witnessed and I didn’t know it was a thing....

The office gym is fantastic. Especially because it creates a culture where people are very respectful of your break time. If I say I am going to the gym at a certain time (on my calendar), people don’t schedule over it.

I don’t really like summer running. I just get so hot in July and August. Fall and Spring are my preferred seasons. 

One time I got locked out of my apartment because the key froze in the lock and broke off. The apartment manager said she couldn’t let me in until after 2 am, when her husband would be home from work to stay with the baby. O_o

50 and foggy sounds like perfect running weather.

Keith Ellison is my congressman and I love him. He is smart, dedicated, and caring. He fights hard for our district. He is apologetically liberal. 

My BF never watched Little House and he didn’t realize it was based on memoirs! We were recently driving through Southern Minnesota and we passed Dodge Center, a rinky dink town in the Middle of Nowhere and I said how it always reminded me of Little House. He was like “what? why? that is based in MN?!” 

Oh my god I LOVED Designing Women reruns on Lifetime during the summers when I was a kid.
