She and Shannon Miller were my favorite of the Magnificent Seven.

Oh, I understand she's disappointed and upset, but I just don't like the attitude that she's entitled to or MORE deserving of an all-around gold than everyone else. At the end of the day, it just didn't work out for her, which sucks.

I have no idea where I got 3 from! I actually didn't watch the American qualifying, because I woke up too late to watch it live on BBC, and then didn't watch the American coverage. I've been catching up with video highlights.

OT, but I'm really sad about the decline of Romanian gymnastics.

We have a UK proxy service, which allows us to access all of the BBC streaming on their website. It's like $10 a month or something. I think you can also be all clever and computery and do it yourself, but I think it's complicated so we just pay for the service!

It does feel a little entitled to be like we need to win ALL the things. She is competing in the team and in 3 individual apparatuses, so it's not like her career is OVER. I guess I was watching the BCC coverage, rather than NBC, and it was so cute how they were so proud of their Beth Tweedle, who is just competing

I agree, but I just think that vault lady is cool and thought she deserved a shout out.

In figure skating, there is a three person rule, which is the way it was in gymnastics before. I don't know, it's to include more nations in participating. Otherwise, it'd just be Russia / China / USA for everything.

There is a 37 year old vault specialist! http://www.london2012.com/athlete/chusovitina-oksana-1089045/

I don't think success and happiness are mutually exclusive at all. But like the article asks, by what measures? I mean, I have a good job, a boyfriend, a decent family, a nice apartment, health insurance, etc. Am I successful, or just happy? Does it matter?

I was going to hate all over this as a 26 year old, but my friend pointed out, are you trying to be successful? And I said, I'm just trying to be happy. Which I pretty much am! So I really can't be mad that she got a book deal and whatnot at 24, when I'm not even doing anything towards getting a book deal, can I?

Correction: Kate Moss and Jefferson Hack were never married.

I, for one, welcome our cat overlords.

I personally think that all religions are based on crazy beliefs, but some practices are more crazy / damaging than others. And I think Scientology is one of those with dangerous practices.

It's crazy, I have an acquaintance who I told I didn't ever want to have children (for a number of reasons). I then met her four (adorable) children, and she was like, you didn't interact with them like someone who doesn't want children! I had to explain to her that I'm not some child hating Disney villain just

So strange, that cover is pretty but it doesn't look like Katie Holmes at all!

I've started cutting down on my consumption of meat for environmental reasons. I think a good way to start is to just have meat for one meal a day. Once I started doing that, it became easier to cut down on the portion of meat for the one meal. (This summer I've been eating giant salads with like half of a small

I heard that Camille would have a couple of guest spots, but also that Taylor is currently being filmed for the new season and is working her hardest to stay on the show by not drinking as much. Also, I hope there's no Dana this time around.

I have to say though that the POC on Breaking Pointe are not nearly featured as much as the white dancers. I think the company is somewhat diverse, but like, they're always just shown on the edges in rehearsals and whatnot. None of the main characters are POC, and none of the POC ever get to do the interviewy bits
