Agreed. Actually her peasant PDD in Giselle was some of the worst dancing I’ve seen all season. She may still grow however! I actually have issues with some of the current ABT principals, so she’s not alone in that regard...

I saw Herrera’s retirement performance (and Julie Kent’s)! Lane had an Aurora in the new SB this year, which I think was big for her. However, people seem to think that because Kotchetkova was added, Lane will not be promoted anytime soon because that would be too many short dancers and not enough partners for them.

I don’t think NYCB has taller dancers necessarily, but ABT has some notably short ones. Sara Lane and Xiomara Reyes for example. And now they have added Kochetkova who is tiny.

I’M SO HAPPY ABOUT STELLA. She has been amazing in EVERYTHING I’ve seen her in this season (Lilac Fairy, Gamzatti, and omg her Giselle was literally the best thing this season). I’m seeing her Cinderella tomorrow!

Calvin Royal is amazing (loved his Benvolio this season). Courtney Lavine is also one to watch; I predict she will rise quickly.

There is no doubt that this is an important and amazing event. I like the visibility she brings to ballet and her work to help young black dancers. It is a good thing that she has been promoted.

I said the same exact thing to my white boyfriend! And then I was like, maybe it's a Taiwanese thing, somewhat suspiciously.

Is that not a thing? :( I am wearing a leo, tights, sweater dress and leg warmers today. But it's really because I'm too lazy to change for class after work.

Doesn't Lanvin use French sizing? So they would be faking 34s, not zeros? In my experience vanity sizing is less of a problem with European brands that use French or Italian sizes.

My sister worked at a cafe / bakery and had a customer with a complicated order that came out to $99 and they DIDN'T EVEN LEAVE THE $1 CHANGE FROM THE $100 BILL AS A TIP.

Actually, I want to apologize AGAIN, because my previous comment may have come across as a "non"-apology. I am sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I will examine how I feel so easily into this "townie" idea that IS offensive.

That's fair. I spoke without fully considering the implications of my words and apologize if I offended anyone in the community.

Also adding to say, I think there is room for everything at Wes, but I don't want more funding and recruiting of STEM to mean a cutting of funding for the CFA. There are obviously departments at Wes that get more funds and coverage and consideration, and there is a campus character that comes from certain things

Hm, I didn't quite mean it that way. I'm writing sort of casually here, but there has been a perception that Wesleyan has been trying to get away from the hippie dippy sitting on Foss in a drum circle thing. Sorry if I didn't phrase it well. I read an article about the demographic they were trying to target now a

My hope is that it will further discourage people who want a typical frat culture from joining Wesleyan. I forgot to mention this before, but I think they didn't disband the frats possibly because they don't want to disband other group houses like Eclectic ("hipster house" with great music shows), aforementioned

Frat life isn't huge at Wesleyan. It was about 3% when I was there. There also isn't really an "off campus" anything. Nobody lives off campus, because Middletown is...not a place you want to live, and our on campus housing is REALLY nice.

Wes alum here! There are no sororities in the way there are frats (with their own house). Alpha Delt is a co-ed "frat," and they style themselves more as a "literary society" or some such. I'm thinking the hope is that by making the frats co-ed they will change the frat culture, as frat life is not really big at

Yes! I have a flat foot, but my point is really pretty (I mean I'm not banana footed, but it's still nice). I was told it has more to do with ankle flexibility and strength than natural arch. I've also never heard of a correlation between being a PoC and having flat feet?

Yes, but the more important question is how toned is the person who does the graphics?
