Ahh, my mistake. His being an ADA makes this both better and worse.

“... , but I do not get to express my individuality at my place of business.”

Walker cheekily getting Sam and Bucky’s attention with a police siren, completely oblivious to how triggering that sound might be for them, was a perfect encapsulation of his painfully oblivious worldview. I suppose he could have known exactly how triggering it would be and did it on purpose, but, as the review notes,

I like The Weeknd but agree that there wasn’t a whole lot there in this performance. His delicate vocal tambor isn’t a great fit for an arena to begin with, and the mixing didn’t do him any favors. I did like the backup dancers looking like the creepy doppelganger kid from Us, though.

Wait, would vampires have been affected by the blip? Aren’t they already dead, in a way? I guess not in the original Blade movies, but in something like What We Do In The Shadows, they definitely are.

To those that wonder why everyone is being so vague, my best guess is that there are some legal, contractual issues preventing full public disclosure. Nevertheless, I appreciate Gal Godot sharing enough to explain why she finds Ray Fisher’s claims to be plausible, and I’m guessing Mr. Fisher does as well.

Today’s news I didn’t know I needed right now. THANK YOU.

[checks calendar for late April] Yeah, I should be able to find time for this.

Oh shit, a friend of mine worked on this! He did not sound confident in its quality. Also, a different friend danced for Kristen Stewart in a champagne room while they were filming and had a pretty good time.

I’m inclined to give Jay-Z the benefit of the doubt. Getting to meaningful change is basically impossible without a seat at the table.

Yeah, my guess is that “zany Hitler” might push buttons for a lot of people on both sides. I trust Waititi to navigate it with his usual grace and humor, but it’s no surprise that it makes the bigwigs a little nervous.

After I saw this as a little kid, my father asked if I understood what happened at the end. With the confidence of a child, I said, “Dave became the baby.” I stand by that assessment.

I don’t particularly care for Magnolia. It’s kinda like Love, Actually: a good story or two lost in a lot of noise, and a film that suffers under the weight of its own unchecked ambition. The big standout in Magnolia is Tom Cruise, who’s never had a better venue for his lethal charisma, but the highlights don’t feel

Donald ships Scandinavia with a passion, but they put one rapper in jail for dubious reasons and he’s like, “Hey, that’s our thing! Give him back!”

This song is an all time great - I just put this album (The Sunset Tree) in the jukebox at my new bar for this and “Up The Wolves”. (Don’t worry, Tallahassee is still in the jukebox at the old bar, so we’ve got “No Children” covered.)

There’s a really solid throughline in FFH about fake news and how entrenched beliefs are more important to people than objective reality. It’s very current in a way that wasn’t totally obnoxious about its politics. [SPOILER] JJJ’s intro as an Alex Jones-style conspiracy blogger really drove this home.

I’ve been wondering that myself, while also lamenting that the MCU killed off another worthy villain, but now I’m not so sure he’s dead.

I had also completely forgotten about her from Season 2, to the degree that my wife and I argued about whether she was Lucas’s sister or not. (I think I might have just been hoping that the two black characters with speaking roles weren’t related to each other.) That said, once her annoying “free ice cream” schtick

I live in New Orleans, and I just asked my wife if she wants to break the “shelter in place” order to go see it. She does not.

Can we do away with the idea that original works are somehow “ruined” by a remake? This isn’t Star Wars-type meddling. Love it or hate it, the original is still out there, and people are probably more likely to check it out now that this one is a thing. If the remake (which actually looks kind of okay by the standards
