My problem with the show is that it seems to strictly capitalize on geek/nerd culture by making them the brunt of jokes for the consumption by the general population... and really... how is this different than high school?

FWIW, and maybe to play devils advocate a bit, the show is 100% filmed in front of a live audience, laughter is recorded, and some post recording editing or re-shooting may require them to place some laughter here and there, but for the most part it’s actual audience laughter.
