I don’t get why anyone has a care about the video at all. Until they can show that they have a production-ready car and facilities, it’s all vaporware and nobody should really give a damn. If I had a nickel for every electric car startup that has promised a world-beating car/technology that would make it to

If I had a nickel for every electric concept that is supposed to be a Tesla killer..

The unions have given you and I virtually every benefit that “comes standard” with jobs today, and they’re still doing it.. mostly in other countries. The 8 hour workday? Reasonable wages? More vacation time?

Guess I never get this. If you want one of these, there’s nothing stopping you from buying a FR-S or BRZ. They might be a bit heavier with more power than this would’ve been, though, but probably not too far off on price.

I loved the ventilated seats in my 2002 9-5 Arc. Swore up and down I’d never have another car that didn’t have them. And yet neither my s2k or TT RS has them.. :(

You mean like people buying a Hellcat, SRT8, or Ford Raptor?

This is a specialized vehicle (a big, brash, opulent Jeep), and people (there are many who love Jeep) will get it.

The people you’re talking about are people in a different market.

People would definitely pay $100k for a Jeep. An Escalade doesn’t target the same demographic. The Jeep brand carries a lot of prestige, even if it isn’t the same prestige that say, BMW has.

A $100k Jeep says, “Fuck, I may want to climb a rock wall, but mostly, I want to get around in style.” People may never do that

You obviously never drove the 200's predecessor, than. Unless you don’t consider it to be a “modern car.”

This. Jeep, Ram, and vans are their bread and butter. The Pacifica looks like it will fare well. Jeeps and trucks are still selling pretty well. Rather than investing in those, they’re.. trying to bring Fiat and Alfa to the US, and Fiat is looking pretty dead at this point, and Alfa is looking dead before it arrives.

You can probably just tell Cue to do it. Or it probably won’t listen. “Ah, ah, ah, Jim, I’m afraid I can’t do that.”

Yup. They should instead be dumping their money into Fiat—a brand that is established here already, has a small following, but their products are now terribly dated and behind.

I personally prefer their “V” wagons..

Is that the best explanation you can give? You felt a little annoyed by it?! Tell me more, dammit. It’s my dream car, too!

I said “I can’t help but wonder..” I didn’t say, “Why the %$#* are these people still driving??!”

Having old people on the road who have no business in operating a motor vehicle is a very serious issue in this country.

While the story is lovely, I can’t help wonder if the elderly man—you know the one with the eyesight so poor he had to quit his job—still has a license and is driving the vehicle.

Given the variability on where you live, and the fact that paychecks could be bi-weekly, or even monthly, that really doesn’t indicate much.

It looks like a little wind would roll it over.

Seriously. This car has more shapes than a Geometry textbook. Some Honda designer has a house that is just fucking filled with hexagons.

Rad? I think you mean red. Surely you mean red.

But it’s a Cadillac. What will everyone think when I don’t arrive with my BMW or Audi badge?
