Which is sad because they are very profitable in the U.S., relative to the rest of the company.
Probably because Mitsubishi doesn’t really have any decent products or long term hopes. America isn’t going to buy what Mitsubishi has or can make. (Aside from a few Mirages just because they’re so damn cheap.)

Audi definitely has, so they’re not.
The mazda3 gets 39mpg hwy if you get the comparable HP engine.
40mpg hwy if you get the one that has a good bit less HP.
Snowmobile engine? I’m sure this sounds wonderful.

I guess when I hear the term “affordable” in reference to “family car” I would expect it to mean that it is the average price, or less than average price of a typically sold family car. Which 45k is really not. You’re not in family car territory, you’re in luxury sedan or performance car territory.

Plenty. In any major metro area you can find no shortage of BMW 3-series, Audi A-whatevers, Mercedes Cheap Class, Cadillacs, Lincolns, ..etc.
Nobody has stood in line for a week. But if you want to wait in line for one or two days for a product you are really excited for, so be it? Has there never been a product that you’ve been excited about?

Seriously? How often do you drive 1,500 miles? If you’re going that far, flying is your best bet.
It’s not going to have a 300k mi range. The upper-end version likely will, but the lower-end is expected to have a 200k mi range.
It’s a fully refundable deposit. What’s there to lose other than the interest on that?
