Not at all, but even worse. I trust what the CIA says over what the Trump administration says. 

I have, most of my undergrad studies were in Latin American History. So, I know quite a bit about the subject — probably even more than most people.

Given a choice between trusting the Trump administration over the CIA, I will go with the CIA. 

I think we can rest assured, for now, that the intelligence community will close ranks around one of their own to defend him from Trump.

I hope that the DNI wasn’t lying and has the actual resources to protect the whistleblower because NYT reporters know who the person is and things are going to get serious for him without Trump engaging in blantant stochastic terrorism against everyone involved.

I get it, though - what other choice do they have?  They hitched their mouthparts to Trump’s flanks so securely that they can’t just detach now and beg for mercy.  They know they’re forever tied to this irredeemable massive traitor.
